Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars)
Liszt Well Served by Li and Davis Just when you think it doesn't get better with Yundi Li, it does! The reading of the Liszt Concerto is beautifully lyrical with just the right degree of rubato when called for, the ability of Li to go to triple-piano and yet make the piano heard is unreal. The Chopin Concerto No.1 is equally well served. Andrew Davis conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra with great sensitivity to the music and to the soloist. The Orchestra is without fault. Engineering of the recording is excellent with just the proper degree of stereo spread and ambience, and playing it with 5.1 decoding on my player is even able to generate a far greater degree of "being there". A topnotch production all the way 'round. Submitted by Poppynogood (Iowa City, IA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo
