He Aloha album
$13.69 This remastered version of LEGEND contains a 28 page booklet, and two bonus tracks.
Recorded between 1972 and 1981. Originally released on Island (90169).
Digitally remastered by Ted Jensen (2001, Sterling Sound, New York).
There are few musicians whose music has indisputably advanced humanity. Reggae figurehead Bob Marley--a songwriter, poet, activist, and visionary--is one of them. The idea that a single-disc collection could represent the depth, breadth, and power of Marley's achievement is far-fetched, but LEGEND makes an excellent attempt. Every single one of its tracks is outstanding, and the artist's different faces--revolutionary ("Get Up Stand Up"), romantic ("Is This Love"), devout Rastafarian ("Buffalo Soldier"), and prophet ("One Love/People Get Ready") are equally represented.
In addition to his moving message of love and unity, Marley is a master songwriter, as the timelessness of songs like "Stir It Up," "I Shot the Sheriff," and the gorgeous, poignant "Redemption Song" proves. Of course, a true sampling of Marley's output would require some early ska material, the Wailer's debut (CATCH A FIRE), the definitive NATTY DREAD, and his later-period opus EXODUS, but LEGEND provides a highly satisfying, if brief, overview of Marley's genius. A record well suited to any location, season, or time of day, it has proven universal in its appeal. The music herein is as essential as air. (Note: The Deluxe ...
| | The Lion King CD (1997)
He Aloha CD music
$10.85 THE LION KING won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.
LION KING director Julie Taymor notes that "the South African-style chorus led by Lebo M has become a principal character" in the stage version of Disney's unforgettable story. This chorus, as well as African rhythms, chants, and Zulu dialects are made an essential part of the score, rather than being a mere background as they were in the film version. Expertly intermingled with this specifically African sound are the new comedic songs written by Elton John and Tim Rice, such as "Chow Down," the evil hyena's rock opera theme song; and Zazu the hornbill's wacky "The Morning Report." Beloved songs from the film, including "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Hakuna Matata" are here as well, as are new standouts like the lovely, haunting "They Live in You," written by Mark Mancina, Jay Rifkin, and Lebo M.
Recorded at Sony Music Studios, New York, New York.

| | Celtic Thunder Act Two CD (2008)
He Aloha album
$15.39 Ireland's pop-vocal quintet Celtic Thunder became a sensation in the U.S. through a much-viewed PBS concert special. Their second album, ACT TWO, broadens their appeal even further. Singing in various combinations of solos and ensembles, the five vocalists tackle both Celtic ("Raggle Taggle Gypsy," "Danny Boy") and non-Celtic ("Knights in White Satin," "I Wanna Know What Love Is") material in an impassioned style that melds their Irish roots with eclectic pop sensibilities, positioning them as something like the Emerald Isle's answer to the Three Tenors.
