Logan Sand is a junior at Loveland High School in Loveland, Ohio. He has always wanted to make a music CD and that dream has become a reality. Sand calls it "Like It or Not" and it has been available since the first week of November, 2006 and has been selling very sucessfully since. Sand replied with this, saying, "I write songs from my heart. All of the compositions, lyrics, and even the feel of each song comes from in me, and it's what I want to express. It's me, my music is a part of me, like it, or not, the choice is yours. In my opinion, the album couldn't be any better. The musicians, singers, and mixing is incredible, and I couldn't of asked for a better group to help me with this project."
There are 10 songs on the CD, in which 9 of them are original. One song is a "re-do" of Elton John's "Madman Across the Water". On the CD, Logan wrote lyrics, along with Maggie Schildmeyer ("Melancholy" and "Nightingale") and Colin Dyer ("Troubles" and "Your Love") composed music, played the piano, and sang. He worked on this project for over a year, hitting the studios hard over the summer. He even worked for a month with a graphic artist, Scott Ryan, to design the CD insert. Although the making of the CD was very hard work, he learned a lot about the process. "I learned a lot from this experience", he says, "I never knew that the process for an album would be so much hard work, and so much time, but it was definitely worth it."
The hard work paid off and the CD is excellent. The studio musicians who worked on the project are incredible and include Mark Hill. Hill is the bass player for country music's Keith Urban. Hill played on 3 of the songs. The drummer is one of the best in the tri-state, Josh Seurkamp. You can see him playing at Crossroads Community Church in Oakley, Ohio. The CD was produced and engineered here in Cincinnati, Ohio by Rick Brantley of Allthesesounds Music with additional engineering by Teddy Morgan at Barrio East in Nashville, TN.
"Rick Brantley is amazing - very creative and talented." Sand says with a smile. "He brings out the best in the artist, including myself."
"I'm here for the music, and to make people happy through music", Logan Sand grins, "Thats what music's all about!"
