| | Trouble Simple Mind Condition CD Trouble Discography of CDs
(4 Customer Reviews)
International pressing of the 2007 release from Metal miscreants Trouble features one additional track: 'Ride The Sky'. Trouble keep the spirit of Black Sabbath-style Rock alive while remaining true to their spiritual roots (i.e.: they are often called a 'White Metal' band!). Escape.
Trouble's much anticipated comeback following nearly a decade of inactivity, Simple Mind Condition was unfortunately commercially stillborn upon release because of their new label, Escapi Music's, inability to get it into record stores in most territories, including the U.S. -- nice going, geniuses! For those who actually managed to secure an import copy, however, Trouble's seventh album does not disappoint -- but then it doesn't always shock and awe, either. Rather, the band's reunited core lineup of vocalist Eric Wagner, guitarists Bruce Franklin and Rick Wartell, drummer Jeff Olson, plus new bassist Chuck Robinson, turns in a solid, sometimes stellar, sometimes flawed new set of songs, bearing very few surprises (like the abnormally rockin' "Pictures of Life," the piano-enhanced "The Beginning of Sorrows," and a first ever cover version: Lucifer's Friend's "Ride the Sky"), yet, more importantly, remaining commendably faithful to Trouble's signature sound. This, as loyal followers can attest, lives and dies with Franklin and Wartell's unmistakable tones of doom, which, as expected (and hoped for), take center stage throughout Simple Mind Condition. In fact, the pair's elephantine riffs, telepathic dual harmonies, and tag-team soloing, both dominate and define standout tracks like "Seven," "Trouble Maker," "If I Only Had a Reason," and the heart-rending ballad "After the Rain," but none of these would be Trouble without Wagner's, distinctive growls and mournful wails weaving in their midst. Longtime fans will notice that the group's parallel penchant for psychedelic explorations (taken to extremes on arguably their best-known album, Manic Frustration) are at an all time low on this occasion, and Trouble unwittingly bootleg both their past work on portions of the title cut and "Pictures of Life," and on first single "Mindbender," '70s hard rockers Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog." In conjunction with their label's distribution doldrums, the above mixed qualities are unlikely to push Trouble to superstardom after all these years; but considering how long they'd been away, Simple Mind Condition still represents an overwhelmingly positive return to action, and will easily satisfy the band's devoted fans. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia

Simple Mind Condition album
$15.65 The release of 2009's ENDGAME brings with it a startling realization: if first-generation thrash metal fans had been polled about which of the genre's "Big Four" -- Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth -- would prove to be the most resilient and consistently prolific over the next quarter century, the only sure-fire consensus would probably have been "well, anyone but Megadeth!" And yet, 12 studio albums and 150-plus songs later -- more than any of the other three have managed -- that's exactly what's come to pass. The group's second release for Roadrunner, whose title apparently refers to "coming full circle" rather than any sort of goodbye, finds the latest iteration of Megadeth-- debuting new guitarist Chris Broderick(ex-Nevermore, Jag Panzer)--working primarily within their technical thrash comfort zone (think PEACE SELLS through RUST IN PEACE), with only a few latter-day elements and rare experimental diversions. ...
| | Cross Road: The Best Of Bon Jovi CD (1994)
Simple Mind Condition CD music
$10.45 Bon Jovi finally offers CROSS ROAD, a collection of their best songs plus two recent compositions and a new version of a classic. Fans and first-timers alike will delight in and sing along with this choice blend of hard pop and edgy anthems.
"Someday I'll Be Saturday Night" and "Always" continue the Bon Jovi tradition of gritty love songs and rock poetry. Jon Bon Jovi's coarse yet smoothe vocals reach out and paint images of characters caught in an American scenic ...
| | Alice In Chains Dirt CD (1992)
Simple Mind Condition music CDs
$6.25 Brutal and hard but exciting and surprisingly melodic, DIRT made Alice In Chains national stars in 1992 after being around the Seattle alternative rock scene for many years. They produce a blindingly together sound, with the bass of Mike Starr able to switch between following ...
| | Scorpions Lovedrive CD (1979)
Simple Mind Condition songs
$6.49 Prior to Lovedrive's recording, the Scorpions' lineup had a major change when their lead guitarist, Uli Jon Roth, quit the group (not to mention, the rock genre was rapidly changing). With this in mind, the band not only highlighted the album with the licks and riffs of three guitarists (Rudolf Schenker, Michael Schenker, Matthias Jabs), but they ...
| | Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow CD (1975) Remastered
Simple Mind Condition album
$6.49 After British maestro guitarist Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple in 1974, he recruited Purple Records signees Elf as his backing band. And although Rainbow's 1975 debut was only a hint of future greatness, the album more than holds its own.
Elf was led by dramatic metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who seemed to connect with Blackmore in quite a chemical fashion. "Man on the Silver Mountain" is prime material, as is the six-minute blues-metal classic "Catch the Rainbow." Dio's shining vocals, shown to great effect here, have been emulated by hard rock vocalists throughout the years. "The Temple of the King" is another highlight, showcasing Blackmore's emotional guitar licks. "Sixteenth Century Greensleeves" is the group's ode to medieval times. "Still I'm Sad" is an instrumental ...
| | Tesla Mechanical Resonance CD (1986)
Simple Mind Condition CD music
$7.65 Tesla was a bit of an anomaly on the '80s scene. While making concessions to the Sunset Strip mentality of the era (song titles littered with slang, tracks laced with thinly veiled euphemisms), the music itself holds a great deal more in common with rough-and-tumble hard rock than with watered-down glam. The record's greatest assets are vocalist Jeff Keith, who combines an authentic blues delivery with competent melodic range, and ...
