Princess Alice And The Broken Arrow Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars)  A Career Best? Perhaps!
I have to start off by saying,while I've been familiar with Magnum over the years,I was not an avid fan. Sure I enjoyed some of their recordings,but they didn't knock me over. Until now! Wow,this record is pure class. The songs,production and performances are all first class. Album opener "When We Were Younger" starts thing off in fine stlye. Things really get going for this reveiwer on "Like Brothers We Stand" I cannot get this song outta my head. A great vocal from Bob Catley,who kills on this record. His voice has just gotten better over the years. Next track "Out Of The Shadows" starts off with a great guitar riff that rocks as hard as Magnum ever has. "Dragons Are Real" is an instant classic. Try not to sing along. I could go on and on as every track is a keeper,no fillers here,but I won't. If you enjoy melodic adult rock music,you will enjoy this record. As I stated earlier,I was not a huge Magnum fan before, so I'm not some fanboy. This really is a great album. Check it out!

this is magnum at its best,back to the eigthies style,their best cd ever,nearly every song is great,bob catleys voice is stunning,just run and buy it....

Although Uriah Heep is known for its extensive personnel changes, its lineup has been stable since the mid-'80s; unfortunately, that stability coincided with the band's commercial decline (its last album to chart in the U.S. came in 1983, its last in its native U.K., 1985). So, no one outside the group's fan base noticed that the quintet of founding member and guitarist Mick Box, drummer Lee Kerslake (1971-1978, 1982-2007), bassist Trevor Bolder (who joined in 1977, left during the band's hiatus in the early '80s, and returned a couple of years after its re-formation), singer Bernie Shaw, and keyboard player Phil Lanzon (both of whom joined in the mid-'80s) remained in place through numerous world tours and the studio albums Raging Silence (1989), Different World (1991), Sea of Light (1995), and Sonic Origami (1998). It isn't uncommon to hear someone who has only a casual interest in progressive rock saying something along these lines: "I'm not a huge prog fan, but I'm really into Yes, Pink Floyd, and Queen. Those bands have great hooks in a way that so many of the others don't." Indeed, there are certain hooky, accessible prog rockers who have a way of winning over listeners who find a lot of prog rock to be overly intellectual or excessively abstract.
