With such a scant discography, fans of the late Judee Sill need to make do with whatever they can get their hands on. While this live recording features no previously released songs, it does add a facet to the legend, presenting a sweetly vulnerable, emotionally open performance by the amazing singer-songwriter. With just piano and/or guitar accompaniment and her lovely voice, Sill sings the heck out these songs to the obvious delight of the London audience. A bonus interview track is included.

Nearly 30 years after her passing away Judee Sill remains one of the most important and singular talents of the Laurel Canyon scene. Her two releases for David Geffen's Asylum (1971's Judee Sill and 1973's Heart Food, both available on Water) are criticaSpin (p.94) - 3.5 stars out of 5 -- "These BBC tapes find her alone with guitar and piano, yet the songs retain their casual majesty."

Produced by Emmylou Harris and Parsons cohort James Austin, this beautifully designed three-disc set includes one disc devoted to each solo record and a third featuring outtakes from each album's sessions. With fewer overdubs and Gram and Emmylou's vocals front-and-center in the mix, the final disc brims with the emotive soul and earthbound angelic vocals the two perfected. Among the final discs many highlights are looser alternate takes of "She" and "Streets of Baltimore" from GP and a "Hickory Wind" unadorned by the ridiculous fake crowd noise that mars the GRIEVOUS ANGEL version.
