Biography:In the early part of the previous century, there lived an avid collector of traditional music named Bascom Lamar Lunsford. He traveled far and wide in an effort to document and record the ever-vanishing musical history of American folk music.As legend has it, years later in a dusty storeroom at the Smithsonian, a young man was listening to one of the old-time banjo tunes that Bascom had collected. He was there trying to determine if what the old woman at the orphanage said was true; that he was an illegitimate son of legendary blues man Brownie McGhee. Just as he reached for another unmarked box of albums, a large wheel of aged cheddar rolled off an upper shelf, striking him in the head.
