More Than A CD
Reznor really drags you in this oppressive, apocalyptic universe. Songs like Meet you master and Capital G are very pop-influenced, but The Greater Good and In This Twilight really show the genius of Trent Reznor. Buy it. Buy it now.

Not very impressed.
Yeah, Trent said this is a concept album; The Fragile was a concept album too, and is one of the best works to date, but Year Zero simply doesn't reach that level of perfection. It is still NIN, but very pop influenced.

Overall? Good!
This was a great album, but mabey not quite as good as The Fragile or The Downward Spiral. It is very electronical and kinda goes in a different direction than some of NINs other albums. My favorites are God Given, Capital G, The Good Soldiar, and Meet Your Master. I was reluctant to get this album but give it a chance; it'll grow on you!

Bad first impression, first impressions are lies
I think this scared a lot of old school NIN fans. I think it stands out wholly from the rest. It is less personally neurotic and more satirical, aggressive and powerful.
I was also hesitant with this album, but after a couple of listens I might actually deem this with the title of best album.
The thought Reznor put into not just the plain album, but the whole story, is amazing. Even if you listen to just the music, and don't get into the story, I think you would feel empowered to kill the system.
