JUST ME is Keith Sweat's first studio album since 2002's REBIRTH, but longtime fans needn't fear that Sweat has undergone any major changes. From the sad but silky smooth opener, "Somebody," featuring Chris "F.L.O." Conner, to Sweat's pleading croon on "Teach Me," the album's closer, JUST ME is classic Sweat. Uptempo dance tracks would be a distraction, so Sweat sticks to what he does best: contemporary quiet storm that acts as the perfect soundtrack to candlelight and silk sheets. Guest appearances by Keyshia Cole and Athena Cage sweeten the pot, but it's Sweat's passionate vocals (not to mention the disc's slick production) that steal the show.Vibe (p.76) - "It proves Sweat hasn't lost his bold lyrical touch..." After a long duration of issues with his record label, Sweat finally releases his long awaited album. After two decades Sweat is still making good music. I'm not gonna sugar code it, this album is worth the purchase. This album has a laid-back style and relaxing tempo. You can cut this album on and don't skip tracks. Suga, suga, suga is a hit just by being a spin-off of his hit right and wrong way. Check Sweat out in concert, he is the truth.

This album is very comparable to his best selling 1996 self titled album. After 20+ years, Keith still has what it takes to make another classic album. Hopefully radio stations will recognize this and give him his props.

The music of Bob Dylan has long been highly valued in Jamaica (the Wailers recorded an odd, eerie version of "Like a Rolling Stone" as early as 1966), and given the amazing elastic mutability of his songs (and the equally elastic adaptability of reggae rhythms), it should come as no surprise that a collection of reggae covers of his compositions should pop up now and again. Is It Rolling Bob? presents 14 reggaefied versions of Dylan songs, and while nothing is patently awful, the truth is that most of these tracks are more curious than inspiring or memorable. The fact that Jamaica was once essentially an island slave plantation (and given that Toots Hibbert could sing the want ads and make them stick) gives "Maggie's Farm" an added poignancy here, while "Mr. Tambourine Man" makes an amazingly fluid transition to reggae in the hands of the great Gregory Isaacs, but tracks like "Lay Lady Lay" by the Mighty Diamonds mostly just sound strange, even slightly off-kilter. The disc closes with a remix of Dylan's vocal version of "I and I" done by Doctor Dread, and aside from being a bit more atmospheric than the version from Infidels (which already had the great Jamaican rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare on it), it is surprisingly close to the original mix.
