| | Ozzy Osbourne Black Rain CD Ozzy Osbourne Discography of CDs
(34 Customer Reviews)
Lyrically Ozzy makes some familiar anti-war statements ("Black Rain" and "Countdown's Begun"), delivers social and political commentary ("Almighty Dollar" and "Civilize The Universe"), and offers affection for his fans and loved ones ("Here ... Full DescriptionFor You" and "Lay Your World On Me"). Clean and sober for over two years, the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness is in remarkably strong and healthy form on BLACK RAIN.
Six years on since 2001's largely forgettable DOWN TO EARTH, BLACK RAIN marks a bit of a comeback for Ozzy Osbourne. Ozzy's live band (featuring longtime guitarist Zakk Wylde, drummer Mike Bordin, and bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson) were called to arms at Oz's Los Angeles home studio to deliver the kind of heavy grooves and down-tuned hard rock that sate fans old and new. Wylde's trademark vibrato and false harmonics on the opening track, in particular, set a hard-hitting tone for this fresh set of tracks.
Personnel: Ozzy Osbourne (vocals); Zakk Wylde (guitar); Blasko (electric bass); Mike Bordin (drums).

| Black Rain Music Review Average Rating: (3.6 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Great! And he's sober! This is one of Ozzy's best cds ever. Possible the best. This is also heavy. I love it, it also comes with a code to get free Ozzfest tickits. I love this album, my favorite tracks are I Don't Wanna Stop, Black Rain, Lay Your World On Me, and God Bless The Almighty Dollar. Much Better Than I'd Anticipated! After reading all the negative reviews (which I usually take with a grain of salt) I went out and purchased "Black Rain" and sure enough it was pretty dang good. Can't see giving it a one or two star review - it's definately better than that! Ozzy and Zakk are still a lethal combination and a good majority of the songs (ex. "Not Going Away", "Silver", "Civilize The Universe", and "Countdown's Begun") just plain smoke. This is anything but a boring cd! Submitted by B.C. Boring. First of all, I was really hoping a return to form with this album but all we get is a polished version of Black Label Society left overs with Ozzy on vocals.
3 songs are decent but the rest is just flat out boring.
After i listened to this several times I listened to "the ultimate sin" and remembered what OZZY was all about...As much as I respect Zakk as a guitarist he is nothing compared to Randy or Jake. This is just a flat out boring album. Down To Earth was better than this. Submitted by andrew (wheaton, IL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Classic!!! This one is better than any of his 80's solo stuff.I'll rank this new one in the top 3 Ozzy albums ever along with Ozzmosis and No more Tears.Great music!!! Submitted by diodude (Montreal,Canada.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Black Rain music CDs
$14.89 Some things are immune to trends, and Ronnie James Dio's golden voice is one of them. The alleged inventor of the devil-horns symbol (as it pertains to metal) had a memorable stint as the singer of Black Sabbath after St. Ozzy's departure, leaving behind two classic albums in MOB RULES and HEAVEN AND HELL. Though the rest of Sabbath has mainly focused on working with Ozzy in the 2000s, a 2007 tour with Dio whetted their appetites for a fresh collaboration as Heaven & Hell. The result, THE DEVIL YOU KNOW, stands proudly beside the band's prime material. Like anything associated ...
| | Dream Theater Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence CDs (2002)
Black Rain songs
$17.09 On this, Dream Theater's seventh studio effort, the heavier elements of the band's music come to the forefront. Although the masterful balance of rhythmic interplay, jazzy arrangement, and catchy melodies is ever-present on this two-disc offering, the strong, crunchy guitar sound and powerhouse percussion are pushed more into prominence, helped along by the crystal clear production of drummer Mike Portnoy and guitarist John Petrucci. The first disc is comprised of five tracks, averaging about 10 minutes each and the second disc is a 42-minute opus complete with overture and finale. The length of the songs, rather than being a hindrance, allows for both a sense of completeness and an improvisational element to the tracks, making them fun to listen to.
The virtuoso skills of each instrumentalist are shown in running keyboard lines, pounding bass lines, and finger-twisting guitar solos. This mastery is expressed even more through the ...

| | Delain April Rain CD (2009)
Black Rain CD music
$14.38 Symphonic metal with prominent pianos and a glamorous female singer -- that would be an unwieldy name for a genre but after enough years of bands that clearly wore their copies of early Gathering CDs into the ground, still appropriate. Thus the sophomore effort by Delain, which has all the flair one would expect for a band that might be the new Evanescence or the new Birthday Massacre or its own self. Or something else again, but ...

| | Randy Mcstine Guitarizm CD (2005)
Black Rain album
$17.75 "Guitarizm", the phenomenal new studio disc from young, gifted guitar "prodigy" Randy McStine, features 13 trax (61 minutes) of mega-awesome, unbelievably killer, intense, powerful, mind-blowing instrumental heavy guitar "shred" that stands up to some of the most outstanding guitar music you've ever heard. "Guitarizm" is an incredible "TOTAL GUITAR" statement from an incredible guitarist. Randy McStine (named after Randy Rhoads) has been playing guitar since age five (5) and half of the "Guitarizm" disc was recorded when he was only twelve (12) years old (!!!)including a spellbinding "encore" version of "The Loner" which is worth the price of admission alone. Randy McStine is without a doubt one of the best young guitar players you have ever heard and his guitar playing & music is right up there with the best of them including the most seasoned accomplished players in the world. Despite his young age, (skeptics take note: it's not a gimmick) Randy McStine's incredible guitar playing includes all of the classic elements (technique with feel + substance = TOTAL GUITAR) that define classic guitarists, complete with an incredible sense of depth, maturity and authority that add up to make him a true legitimate guitar hero of the highest caliber. Not only is his guitar playing phenomenal beyond belief and way beyond his young age, on "Guitarizm" he has written & recorded powerful, stand-out, material that far surpasses and goes way beyond the norm of most instrumental guitar discs. "Guitarizm" is an incredible instrumental guitar "shred" disc that actually features strong memorable "songs" to back up his incredible, talented powerful guitar playing. "Guitarizm" is all about substance and style and not about "shred for the sake of shred", although there is more than enough insane over the top "shred factor" displayed on "Guitarizm" to satisfy even the most hard-core heavy guitar "shred" freaks out there in guitarland! Randy McStine is definitely the REAL deal when it comes down to REAL guitar music. "Guitarizm" is an awesome mind-blowing instrumental heavy guitar disc that is HIGHLY recommended to fans of awesome players like JOE SATRIANI, GARY MOORE, JEFF BECK, ERIC JOHNSON, STEVE MORSE, PAT TRAVERS, RONNIE MONTROSE, BLUES SARACENO, PAUL GILBERT, STEVE LUKATHER, MICHAEL LANDAU, STEVE VAI, VINNIE MOORE, DOUG ALDRICH, ANDY TIMMONS, JEFF KOLLMAN, JOE BONAMASSA, CHRIS POLAND & GREG KOCH to name a few. "Guitarizm" is exclusively ...
