5 stars Great! And he's sober!
This is one of Ozzy's best cds ever. Possible the best. This is also heavy. I love it, it also comes with a code to get free Ozzfest tickits. I love this album, my favorite tracks are I Don't Wanna Stop, Black Rain, Lay Your World On Me, and God Bless The Almighty Dollar.

4 stars Much Better Than I'd Anticipated!
After reading all the negative reviews (which I usually take with a grain of salt) I went out and purchased "Black Rain" and sure enough it was pretty dang good. Can't see giving it a one or two star review - it's definately better than that! Ozzy and Zakk are still a lethal combination and a good majority of the songs (ex. "Not Going Away", "Silver", "Civilize The Universe", and "Countdown's Begun") just plain smoke. This is anything but a boring cd!

First of all, I was really hoping a return to form with this album but all we get is a polished version of Black Label Society left overs with Ozzy on vocals. 3 songs are decent but the rest is just flat out boring. After i listened to this several times I listened to "the ultimate sin" and remembered what OZZY was all about...As much as I respect Zakk as a guitarist he is nothing compared to Randy or Jake. This is just a flat out boring album. Down To Earth was better than this.

This one is better than any of his 80's solo stuff.I'll rank this new one in the top 3 Ozzy albums ever along with Ozzmosis and No more Tears.Great music!!!

At first glance, Halford's entry into the crowded holiday market looks like a parody. Heavy metal and Christmas make for strange bedfellows, and WINTER SONGS' pastoral cover art -- which depicts Rob Halford staring wistfully (with a goatee and shades) into a soft, snowy pine forest -- screams Spinal Tap. Though former Runaways guitarist Lita Ford has been absent from the recording industry since 1997, she hasn't exactly been idle. After releasing Kiss Me Deadly, her final album after a string of them in the '80s and '90s, the music scene -- and the industry with it -- changed, and alternative ruled the airwaves. Ford got married to Jim Gillette, former vocalist with hair metal rockers Nitro, and started a family. In addition, she relocated to the Caribbean. Wicked Wonderland is uncharacteristic of the pop-metal she released a decade ago. It's an in-your-face metal record, but ultimately it's a very studied and calculated 21st century pop-metal record. It's an album with explicit sexual content, examining S&M, bondage, power exchanges, and all manner of kink and crave in lyrics, words, and sleeve images. Ford wrote all of these songs with her co-producers Greg Hampton and Gillette. Gillette is also either a duet partner or backing vocalist on every track here.
