| Divina Virtude Music Review Average Rating: (5 out of 5 stars) I heard it and it is very good! In his second CD, Gustavo Magno shows that it is possible to make music for different listeners, from those who are used to the rock and pop played massively in FM radios to those who prefer pay attention in the details of the compositions, harmony, melody and lyrics. Listen close to the bolero ambiance in the fourth track, "Versos Intimos", whitch is the musical version for the well known brazilian poem written by Augusto dos Anjos. Also don´t miss the sound gate that links Spain and North East Brazil at "Barcelona, Borborema", inspired in verses of Neumanne Pinto. | | Youssou N'Dour Egypt CD (2004)
Divina Virtude songs
$14.99 International pop star Youssou N'Dour explores of the themes and sounds of Senegal's Sufi culture on this striking 2004 release. Markedly different than the artist's other albums, on which African elements combine with Caribbean influence and various American styles (including soul, jazz, and rock), EGYPT moves away from N'Dour's trademark pop and deep into the territory of traditional religious music. Though characterized by an undercurrent of West African rhythms and inflections, the sound here--as the title indicates--draws on North African and Middle Eastern Arab music, and features such regional instruments as the oud, the arghul (a double-reed bamboo flute), tablas, and various Arab Gulf percussion.
There is a distinct classical aura here (the personnel list includes an arranger, a conductor, and a score manager). The Fathy Salama Orchestra, which backs ...

| | Manny Oquendo On The Move! (Muevete!) CD (1996)
Divina Virtude CD music
$12.49 The strong and powerful influence of African music is hard to miss on this CD, which illustrates the rich cultural heritage of blacks in Bahia and Northeastern Brazil (a region that has produced many musical greats). Legends like Tito Puente, Tito Rodriguez, and Machito were on the scene, so aspiring young salseros assumed they had no choice but to give 200 percent. The percussionist and his longtime partner Andy Gonzales bring that unwavering work ethic to On the Move! (Muevete!), an outstanding live date recorded at Bimbo's 365 Club in San Francisco. When a 65-year-old Oquendo and his band Libre tear into Bobby Capo's familiar cha-cha "Piel Canela" and infectious originals like "No Cuentes," "Chaquilla Ideal," "Oquendo Y Libre" (a celebration of New York's salsa scene), and the descarga (Afro-Cuban jam) "Muevete un Poco," it's clear that a genuine ...

$11.15 songs:heart of stoneMove AlongMendo Love SongEl Caracol162 HaikuFade AwayPalabrasThese songs were written with the inspiration aromated from living life with passion. Heart of stone- I wrote this song while in Manila, CA. Watching the bay breathe and struggling with saying goodbye. Trying to let go.Move Along- I wrote this song in a fit of anger that I was feeling when I woke up from a dream. It represents the impulsive reaction to reality.Mendo Love Song- I wrote this song on some hot evenings in mendocino county. Armed with only a guitar and a fire I made it through an epic summer. Thanks to some help from some good ol' boys and my dog...Deuce.El Caracol (the snail)- On the coast in Southern Oaxaca you can find "Caracols" that when rubbed on the skin or hair will dye it purple. The color was once more valuable than gold and these concepts have helped me to put things into perspective.162 Haiku- I started writing this song on a cold and rainy couple days alone at 162. I worked on it a little more and finished the song recently. The chorus came to me one morning. It the most personal song on the album.Fade Away- This song came from some negative emotions I was feeling and it was so therapuetic to me that I would wake up and play it everyday. It is the product of channelling these emotions ...
