The depth of feeling inherent in Carlos Santana's guitar playing is nearly matched (but not quite) by the size and breadth of his discography: since the late 1960s the man has churned out a staggering amount of material, all of which features ... Given the dizzying plethora of options, newcomers might be at a loss about where to start exploring Santana's' music, which is why best-ofs like 2007's MULTIDIMENSIONAL WARRIOR are an excellent bet.
Spanning two discs and ranging across Santana's career, MULTIDIMENSIONAL WARRIOR features 28 tracks selected by the guitarist himself. Obvious candidates like "Oye Como Va" and "Black Magic Woman" have been passed by here (one can find them on any run-of-the-mill Santana anthology) in favor of tunes that showcase Santana's spiritual commitment ("Let There Be Light") and his commitment to traditional Latin musical forms ("Samba Para Ti"). But Santana's cross-genre approach and dazzling six-string wizardry shine through on every track, making this generous set an excellent place to get acquainted with the music of this rock icon.

On Spirit , track
new Guitar licks are on it.
No info on the remixes on this new collection but it is a first
to have Carlos in Control
who has mixed his Guitar up front on many tracks.
And many tracks from '84 appear hear
for the first time in better 24 bit.
A great release.

I've been a Santana fan since the release of thier first album in 1969.
I've only had this new release a few weeks and have listened to both CDs countless times!
The people that Carlos works with are fabuluos, and Carlos' talent is beyond words!!!
Every track is excellent and many tracks are extremely excellent!!!

In contrast to several recent Santana releases, MDW sees Santana at his original best. This CD shows what a fine musician he is. He does not need high profile singers, as per Supernatural or Shaman, for support. The album is highly remeniscent of Abraxis, my favourite of his albums and . It returns to a solid Latin American drive. I can't identify the best track, and equally I can't identify the weakest, the whole thing is as good as it gets.
