| | Beyonce Irreemplazable CD Beyonce Discography of CDs
(1 Customer Review)
Given the slick pop sheen of Beyonce's tunes, their immediate accessibility and hookiness, it's not at all odd that they translate so well. This is the sort of pop that isn't culturally specific, but the Spanish language vocals clearly gives the EP an extra appeal in Latin communities. The lead-off track, "Amor Gitano," sets the tone, while a Spanglish version of "Beautiful Liar," and remixes of the English-language versions of "Beautiful Liar," "Irreplaceable," and "Get Me Bodied" (featuring mix work by Timbaland) round out the package.
By the 2000s, the rise of Latin pop, reggaeton, and Rock en Espanol (mirroring the booming Latin population in the United States) made it possible for mainstream pop stars to cross market. Reigning contemporary R&B queen Beyonce did just that with her 2007 EP IRREEMPLAZABLE, which contains eight tracks, four of which are in Spanish. The EP's centerpiece is Beyonce's 2006 smash hit "Irreplaceable," sung in Spanish, along with Spanish-language versions of "Listen" and "Beautiful Liar."

Irreemplazable album
$6.19 The '60s Blues Revival begins here. Calling this album influential is an understatement akin to calling the Grand Canyon a rut; suffice to say that an entire generation of musicians (mostly young and white) heard this and had their lives changed forever. In fact, for at least a year after the album's release in 1965, it was impossible to walk down the hall of any college dorm in America ...
| | VH1 Presents The Corrs Live In Dublin CD (2002)
Irreemplazable CD music
$6.39 This audio document of The Corrs' Dublin homecoming concert has pretty much everything fans of Irish pop could wish for, including an appearance from Bono in his earthly incarnation, fresh from an audience with President George W. Bush. It's to the band's credit that the charismatic singer fails to steal the show, despite creditable efforts via an anthemized version of Ryan Adams' beautifully downtempo "When the Stars Go Blue," and a great, leering rendition of Lee Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra's "Summer Wine."
Somewhat more mysteriously, Rolling Stone Ron Wood also turns up on what sounds ...
| | Drive-By Truckers Southern Rock Opera CDs (2001) Digipak
Irreemplazable music CDs
$11.99 A sprawling two-disc set, the Drive-By Truckers' SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA is a cracked masterpiece that's enjoyable on several different levels. Hipsters might enjoy the giggly premise of a two-disc set devoted to a slightly altered retelling of the rise and fall of 1970s Southern rock icons Lynyrd Skynyrd. Progressive rock fans lamenting the modern era's relative lack of story-driven albums divided into "Act I" and "Act II" will latch onto SOUTHERN ROCK OPERA with the same passion with which ...
| | Antony I Am A Bird Now CD (2005)
Irreemplazable songs
$12.49 Though he probably achieved his greatest mainstream recognition backing up Lou Reed on tour, idiosyncratic songbird Antony is a fully established artiste in his own right. Backed by the Johnsons, as on I AM A BIRD NOW, he crafts delicate ballads that skirt the lines between cabaret, artsong, and pop, with the kind of voice that Stephin Merritt would probably kill for. Antony's unique pipes bring to mind an androgynous Bryan Ferry or a high, quavery summit meeting between Jimmy Scott (another Reed supporter) and Aaron Neville. The stately, graceful, largely piano-driven songs on I AM A BIRD NOW are full of honest, uncluttered emotion, ...
| | Dredg Catch Without Arms CD (2005)
Irreemplazable album
$8.49 Early on, critics often described Dredg as a metal group. However, the quartet has since matured into a hard-edged indie-rock ensemble that seeks diversity and refinement in its music. On CATCH WITHOUT ARMS, the band favors highly orchestrated parts, dense guitar riffs, and powerful drumming. Each song is based around memorable vocal hooks and sensitive ...

| | DJ Brett Henrichsen White Party 2001 CD (2001)
Irreemplazable songs
$13.85 This is a continuous in-the-mix CD compiled and mixed by DJ Brett Henrichsen.
Of the increasing number of Hi-NRG-style mix albums surfacing in the early 2000s, Brett Henrichsen's White Party 2001 deserves notice. Though not a stunning mix by any means, Henrichsen's performance does indeed capture the essence of the "white party" scene, as he chooses tracks with ...

| | Eddie Izzard Circle CD (2003) (Import)
Irreemplazable CD music
$26.29 British comic Eddie Izzard is many things, not the least of which is wickedly funny. The fact that he dresses in drag has always been a bit of an anomaly in regard to his comedic material in that it has so little to do with his act. Mostly, it serves as a kind of comedic "shock and awe" strategy to force his audiences to lighten up. Which is why the CD version of Circle is both an effective and inadequate document of his live show. On one hand, it allows you to fully focus on his dry wit, deep historical references, and train-of-thought jokes without the distraction of a slightly barrel-chested man in pumps. On the other hand, a slightly barrel-chested ...
