Kill To Get Crimson album
$8.39 Combining layered vocals with a heavily looped guitar sound, "Until We Sleep" begins ABOUT FACE with an almost Byrds-like quality, while the gentleness of the acoustic opening to the ballad "Murder" disguises its homicidal subject matter. Both "Love On the Air," and "All Lovers are Deranged," are distinguished by lyrics written by Pete Townshend, and "Blue Light" is an attempt at funk with a Floydian flavor. Gilmour's strength at ballad writing is evidenced in "Out of the Blue," while the obligatory instrumental is "Let's Get Metaphysical." The album closer is, appropriately enough, the song "Near the End." All in all an essential album in any Floyd fan's collection.
This follow-up to David Gilmour's late '70s debut is a Bob Ezrin-produced post-WALL effort, and ...

Kill To Get Crimson CD music
$12.25 For folk legends Simon & Garfunkel, 1969 was both a peak year and the beginning of the end. They had achieved most of their hits and were about to record their classic final album at the time of this recording, which took place on a lucrative six-city U.S. tour. While other celebrated live albums by the duo have been released, and this tour in particular produced many bootlegs, this is the first official live concert album of that period, and is invaluable to fans. The duo's singing is stellar and the musical rapport is strong here, with no indication ...
| | Dr John Creole Moon CD (2001) (Import) Bonus Track; Japan
Kill To Get Crimson music CDs
$43.09 CREOLE MOON was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.
This is album by New Orleans piano professor Dr. John contains 15 tracks, including "Now That You Got Me" and the title track.
Following a string of albums that found Dr. John variously saluting Duke Ellington, tackling standards, and surrounding himself with British rock stars, the Crescent City king got back to home truths with CREOLE MOON. Throughout the album, Dr. John and his Big Easy compatriots serve up the kind of greasy, groove-heavy New Orleans-style R&B that first made the artist formerly known as Mac Rebbenack a success in the 1970s. Everyone from slide guitar hero Sonny Landreth to James Brown cohort Fred Wesley pops up to add bluesy grit and/or funky drive, but the steamy, percolating feel perpetuated throughout CREOLE MOON ultimately evokes the undiluted essence of Dr. John.
Renard Poche (guitar, background vocals); Sonny Landreth (slide guitar); Michael Doucet (fiddle); Charley Miller (flute, trumpet); Theodore Arthur, Jr. (soprano & alto ...

| | Foo Fighters Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace CD (2007)
Kill To Get Crimson music CDs
$11.39 ECHOES, SILENCE, PATIENCE & GRACE, the Foo Fighters' sixth effort, upholds the band's allegiance to melody-heavy post-grunge power pop driven by roaring guitars and Dave Grohl's fine songwriting. The Foos are aided by super-producer Gil Norton this time out (Norton also helped craft the group's second, and arguably best, album, THE COLOR AND THE SHAPE). The result is a polished yet powerful outing that proves the Foos have earned their status as one of alternative rock's most reliable acts.
But while tunes like "The Pretender" pack a hard-rock wallop, the real surprises on ECHOES are the softer songs. The breezy, folky "Summer's End," for example, is a standout, as is Grohl's solo acoustic performance on "Stranger Things Have Happened." This isn't to say the Foo Fighters have mellowed--the album contains as much ...
