Belay My Last Downfall Songs Downfall Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Awesome Metal Album One thing I hate doing is putting a band like Belay My Last into a specific genre. BML coul be desrcibed as deathcore, metalcore, or maybe even death metal (although they definitely have some hardcore undertones.) This album is awesome, however. The vocals sound like the Cookie Monster and a demon from hell had a lovechild with throat cancer, the drums are rediculousy technical with plenty of hyper speed double bass, the guitars are amazing with an extra helping of fancy fretwork and the unlike many metal bands, the bass is audible and very technical. Many heavy metal elitists would shun this band for their use of breakdowns, but the mosh parts of each song could level a building. Belay My Last are definitely one of the best new metal bands around these days. If you're a fan of older Between The Buried And Me, All Shall Perish and Whitechapel, you will love this band. Downfall album
$11.59 The story goes that Michigan's See You Next Tuesday had to record their debut effort, Parasite, twice, after the original files were lost to a studio computer hard drive crash. Anyone else smell a conspiracy here? Or perhaps said hard drive was simply unable to cope with the sheer "brootality" contained in the band's hyper-technical grindcore -- a theory that's at least as plausible as suicidal ProTools software seeking to spare humanity from such eardrum debilitating music. That's grindcore for ya, and if these 14 hyper-blasts and occasional melodic experiments (see "Paraphilia") are anything to go by, See You Next Tuesday surely exemplify the genre's outermost avant-garde fringe in terms of controlled extremism. Armed with his Kramer guitars, whammy bars, and probably Floyd Rose tremolos, too, guitarist Drew Slavik attempts to inject an '80s shredding mentality into grind's uncompromising savagery; refusing to ever repeat the same riff twice, and thereby ensuring that See You Next Tuesday's songs always last less than two minutes, with very rare exceptions. Vocalist Chris Fox contributes both bowel-churning growls and incensed spazzed-out screams in the Mike Patton tradition, while the band's humorous song titles (e.g. "Good Christians Don't get Jiggy with It Till After Marriage," "Before ...

Downfall music CDs
$10.55 California's Suicide Silence has digested the history of extreme metal from black, to death, to doom, to thrash, to hardcore, and everywhere in between, and synthesized it into a potent mixture. Thundering tracks like "Hands of a Killer" reel like a man on fire, staggering in slow motion to every line of the scorched vocals. "No ...

| | Internal Bleeding Onward To Mecca CD (2004)
Downfall album
$14.05 Along with bands like Suffocation and Pyrexia, New York's Internal Bleeding helped establish the Northeast American seaboard's death metal template -- ugly, crusty, bottom-heavy, and almost completely melody free -- during the 1990s. Not exactly rife with possibilities, this template not surprisingly led to limited success and rather erratic, breakup-makeup-breakup career paths for most of the above-cited culprits -- and Internal Bleeding was no exception. So much so that 2004's Onward to Mecca is only the band's fifth album in a ten-year span (fourth if you consider that 2001's Alien Breed featured old demos), but that can partly be blamed on its arriving three years late due to legal wrangling with different record labels. Unfortunately, the album's mostly unimaginative, repetitive, and downright monotonous contents do little to explain any sort of competition for the band's services, as they generally storm by without much to latch onto. Whereas Suffocation at least compensate for their harmony deficiencies with awe-inspiring technicality, Internal Bleeding's short, undifferentiated songs usually seem to come from nowhere before heading right back there. Even when good, recognizable riffs manage to make their presence known on tracks like "Bleed by Example," "Far Above You," and "This Day I Fight," it's for mere seconds -- hardly long enough to impress or help them stand out from ...
