On his first solo outing, former Pray for the Soul of Betty frontman and AMERICAN IDOL finalist Constantine Maroulis offers up a set of radio-friendly pop/rock tunes. Clearly informed by Constantine's stints on Broadway, the self-titled debut features plenty of dramatic numbers that showcase the New York City-born singer's expressive voice, most notably the urgent, Rob Thomas-like "Girl Like You" and the melancholy "Sister, Sister."
Recording information: Copelycabana Studio, New York, NY; Spin Studios, Long Island City, NY.
Personnel: Jim Boggia (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Marc Copely (vocals, guitar, percussion); Rob Clores (piano, keyboards); John Clancy (drums, percussion); Athan Maroulis (background vocals).
Audio Mixer: Marc Copely.

Constantine Music Review Average Rating: (4.3 out of 5 stars) Listening now I play this cd daily and I'm so disappointed that I'm not hearing it on the radio. Fading into You is the best but Favorite T-shirt is the most fun. Love it.

Surpisingly fun and diverse The first time I listened to it I thought it was okay, but I think that was because I had no idea what to expect. Since then, I have become completely hooked on this CD! I find myself more into songs I haven't seen others mention in reviews, namely "Favorite T-Shirt," "So Long," and "Fading Into You." I also love "Several Thousand" and "Child, You're The Revolution. "Favorite T-Shirt" is so much fun to listen to and sing along--I can't get enough of it! "Several Thousand" has a beautiful, soulful sound that I love in Constantine's voice. I never tire of hearing the wonderful tone he has in his voice. "Child, You're The Revolution" has the rockier edge I love about his voice, too. He has such a great range of songs on this CD, which totally surprised me. Even my husband who didn't want to like it, admits he enjoys it, too. Now, THAT'S saying something! A true masterpiece The CD is amazing. There is a great selection of music, and each song is very unique. His vocals are strong and voice is capitivating, his talent shines! I can see anyone of these songs becoming a radio hit. My favorite tracks include heaven help the lonely, fading into you, and so long. A true masterpiece, you will not be disappointed! Constantine CD music
$9.09 As one of the finalists on the fifth season of the AMERICAN IDOL reality-TV show, North Carolina-based neo-grunge vocalist Chris Daughtry garnered even more attention by getting asked to be the frontman for the group Fuel, and then, surprisingly, declining the offer. This 2006 album, ...

$7.79 In Joel Schumacher's psychological thriller THE NUMBER 23, Jim Carrey takes on another dramatic role. Carrey's character is similar to his roles in THE TRUMAN SHOW and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND: he portrays an average man thrust into quite extraordinary situations after a series of strange events cause him to question everything he's ever taken for granted. On his birthday, Walter Sparrow is given a mysterious and tattered book called THE NUMBER 23 by his loving wife, Agatha (Virginia Madsen). As Walter reads the book, he quickly notices its alarming similarities to his own life. Rather than stop reading, he continues, unknowingly inviting the book to take over his life. The deeper Walter gets into the ...
| | Rihanna Good Girl Gone Bad CD (2007)
Constantine songs
$14.05 The music of Barbados-born singer Rihanna--a breezy blend of hip-hop, commercial pop, and Caribbean flavors--made her a bona fide superstar before the age of 20. Given her immediate success, one had to wonder if Rihanna would be a flash in the pan, but her third album, 2007's GOOD GIRL GONE BAD, is a winner. Interestingly, Rihanna avoids the Caribbean tinge that made her breakthrough single "Pon the Replay" a massive hit, sticking instead to more straightforward dance-pop designed for the club and the singles charts. More interesting still, she pulls it off with assurance and skill.
It doesn't hurt that heavyweight producers such as Timbaland (who contributes several tracks to GOOD GIRL) are on board, or that Rihanna is backed by the Def Jam empire. In fact, Def Jam president Jay-Z appears on the album's lead single, "Umbrella," an irresistible, stomping dance anthem that does exactly what a single should. Another highlight is "Shut Up and Drive," which works a powerful groove based around a sample of New Order's "Blue Monday." There are notably fewer ballads here than on Rihanna's sophomore effort, which is a welcome change, and makes the album more focused, energized, and danceable front to back.

$8.39 With age comes growth (most of the time), and Anthony Rankin's third official release is a clear demonstration of this adage. 2007's 'The Distance' finds him unlocking the artistic voice he set out to uncover four years prior, on debut 'Every Part of Me.' A quick sample of any earlier ...
| | Christian Brown When It's Perfect CD (2008)
Constantine CD music
$9.49 Born in isolation on the frozen arctic plains of Fairbanks, Alaska in Dec. 1985, Christian Brown had difficulty adhering to the stern social structure of a small Midwestern college town when his family relocated to Cedar Falls, IA in 1992. Aside from a few very close friends, Christian mostly kept to himself, wasting his days developing creative pass-times, and marveling at Midwestern technologies such as TV and Radio. Finally exposed to the barrage of mainstream entertainment media, Christian fell in love with the pop/alternative hits of the '90s and discovered an obsession. He immersed himself in music, listening to albums from his favorite artists over and over literally thousands of times. Out of this Christian developed a need to create his own music. Beginning in grade school on the saxophone, Christian astonished his teachers with his determination, practicing as much as twenty hours per week. Although rarely studying his sheet music, Christian loved to jam and loved jazz improvisation. He quickly accelerated to studying college level Jazz theory by the end of junior high. Earning the high school label "band nerd," Christian spent countless hours skipping classes to hide out in practice rooms and jam on his new found favorite music maker, the piano.Narrowing his direction to the music he truly loved, Christian started a pop/alternative cover band with two high school friends. Initially desiring to be the lead singer, the band aggravated audiences with Christian's attempt to mimic the voices he heard on the radio with his plain, baritone voice. Frustrated but undeterred, he and his band auditioned a new singer and began writing original music. Always a do-it-yourselfer, Christian diversified his skills and took the role of producer for his band. This opened up new opportunities for him. He played in and produced many different local bands throughout high school until landing an internship at Catamount Recording, a ...
