| | Lee Sheehan Detroit Steel CD (2007)
Tribal Beats For The Urban Streets CD music
$15.19 Lee Sheehan has been carving out an impressive career as a singer/ songwriter. His distinguished debut album "Detroit Steel" has helped to establish him as a sought after performer and composer. Passionate music that perfectly blends compellingly expressive lyrics with exciting melodic lines, delivering that certain heart tugging emotional consciousness from deep within. From "Dad's Song" haunting steel guitar work that seems to linger forever, ringing out around the words "..it's not how long you live but how you do.." to "My Wish For You," a vividly striking tune of love for a precious young son. Music that is not only heard, but felt as well. The following bio is taken from Lee's official web site leesheehan . "...Lee Sheehan singer, songwriter and guitarist grew up in Pennsylvania and Ohio, were he absorbed a huge variety of great music. Taking after his father he began playing guitar at an early ...

The album opens with an excellent old (composed in 1425) piece of qin music evocative of "flowing water" that moves from gentle burbling via plucks on to massive turbulence via metal-like strumming. The pipa makes an appearance with the following piece with a bit more tempo but maybe less energy. The qin returns for a more contemplative piece of program music in combination with the xiao flute, courtesy of Cheng's old ...
