| | Starz Violation CD (1977) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Unchained CD music
$10.45 Starz' sophomore album, Violation, was quite similar to its predecessor. Jack Douglas was still the band's producer, and Starz continued to favor the type of slick, commercial hard rock that would be called pop-metal in the '80s and early '90s. This 1977 LP didn't establish Starz as major players in the pop-metal field; the New Yorkers did have a small following, although not a huge one. Nonetheless, this is an enjoyable record. It doesn't contain any pop-metal masterpieces like Kiss' "Shout It out Loud" or Sweet's "Ballroom Blitz," but tracks like "Cherry Baby" and "Rock Six Times" are certainly decent. Most of the time, Starz vocalist Michael Lee Smith sings about the same things that Kiss and Sweet were singing about in the '70s; namely, all-night parties and wild young women in ...
| | Witchcraft Firewood CD (2005)
Unchained music CDs
$13.65 Ask a group of doom metal or stoner rock enthusiasts what band was the blueprint for the doom/stoner field, and the vast majority will -- without hesitation -- say Black Sabbath. So when a band is as Sabbath-influenced as Witchcraft, it is understandable that some headbangers would describe them as a doom band. But Witchcraft isn't nearly as forceful or as heavy as Eyehategod, Orange Goblin, or Toadliquor, and Firewood isn't typical of what has been considered doom metal and stoner rock in the '90s and 2000 -- actually, this 2005 release shows no awareness ...
| | Thin Lizzy Thunder And Lightning CD (1983)
Unchained songs
$9.69 Digitally remastered by Eddie Shreyer & Brian Slagel (Future Disc).
Thin Lizzy's final studio release, Thunder and Lightning, was their most consistent album since 1979's Black Rose. Guitarist John Sykes replaced Snowy White, and the new blood must have inspired Lynott and company to write some of their best compositions in years. Although a pop-metal production hinders the tracks, there's more of a harder edge present than on their last release, Renegade. While the title track served as the ensuing tour's raging opener, half-baked lyrics detailing a fistfight and an unwarranted synth-solo weakens what should have been a straight-ahead rocker. ...

| | Adam & The Ants Dirk Wears White Socks CD (1979) (Import) Remastered; United Kingdom
Unchained music CDs
$16.75 Pioneering new wavers Adam & The Ants' classic first album DIRK WEARS WHITE SOCKS, which first appeared in 1979, is back and remastered in this British rerelease.
This import includes seven exclusive cuts--"Whip In My Valise," "Kick!," "Physical", "Cartrouble" (Parts 1 & 2-Chris Hughes Mix), "Friends," "Cartrouble" (Single Version), & "Kick" (Single Version).
The original Ants lineup released only one LP, Dirk Wears White Sox for Do It in 1979. The album finds a young Adam Ant exploring the sometimes-awkward fusion of punk, glam, and minimalist post-punk with bizarre images and disturbing tales of alienation, sex, and brutality. And while the somewhat pretentious, overly arty lyrics and inexperienced playing are a drawback, the album offers a fascinating look at the Ants' formative years, capturing a raw energy that would be sacrificed for more polish on subsequent releases. [At the height of Antmania, Adam acquired the rights to the album, remixing it, dropping a few tracks, and adding a couple of early ...

$17.09 \"...your music is good and your playing is frantic...Tommy Emmanuel, cgpBoris Dujmovic was born in 1962 in Valenciennes ,a cold and rainy town in the north of France. At the age of four, thanks to his grandpa, Boris started to play the \"bratsch\"a sort of croatian mandolin .The family atmosphere was filled by music. At any moment of the day, there was always someone around singing wonderful melodies from the Adriatic sea.Sitting on grandpa\'s knees, he spent long pleasurable hours learning the bases of this fretted instrument. At the tender age of 6,his dad gave him the most precious gift:a 3/4 scale steel guitar found in a marketplace in Belgium .Unfortunately this little guitar was very difficult to play and the first bar chords were painful. But since then,he had a friend forever and played as much as possible ,most of the time on the first floor landing ,because there was a good reverb...When he was in secondary school, he met an Italian ...
