Enhanced Japanese pressing of the 2008 album from the British Electronic band features two bonus audio tracks ('Bubbles They Bounce' and 'My Brother Is Watching Me') plus the enhanced video for 'Ready For The Floor'. Made In The Dark is an amazing and ambidextrous follow up to the massively acclaimed, Mercury Music Prize nominated album The Warning. Recorded and self-produced in their home London studio base and charts their ever growing sonic ascendance into one of the UK's most original and like/loveable bands. Made In The Dark is the definitive Hot Chip record and could have been made by no other band. It would probably be easiest to say that the album is faster and rockier than The Warning, but that is only beginning to scratch the service. Within its 16 tracks there is both rhythmical chaos (Shake A Fist', 'Bendable Poseable'), soulful introspection (We're Looking For A Lot Of Love', the title track and 'In The Privacy Of Our Love') and even contemporary widescreen Pop ('Ready For The Floor', 'One Pure Thought'). The songs are propulsive, repetitive, rhythmical, methodical, wonky, intimate, beautiful and uniquely Hot Chip.
Hot Little Rocket: Aaron Smelski, Andrew Wedderburn (vocals, guitar); Patrick May (vocals, bass guitar); Joel Nye (piano, drums).

How To Lose Everything
$17.58 Anyone familiar with the industrial-metal band's dark sense of irony should take one look at the title of Rammstein's 2009 album LIEBE IST FUR ALLE DA ("Love Is There For Everyone") and conclude that this one is a mean monster. Combining the tightness and punch of their 1998 album SEHNSUCHT with the musicianship and elaborate textures of their later work, LIEBE IST is a grand achievement, skillfully dividing its time between razor sharp metal rockers like "B********" or the opening theme song "Rammlied" and nostalgic, cabaret pieces that conjure the spirits of Weil and Brecht at a goth club. Best of the latter is the naked and haunting closer "Roter Sand" but little touches of a sinister yesteryear are everywhere, like ...

How To Lose Everything
$11.49 Extra! Extra! Read all about it!The forthcoming summer will turn out to be a very promising one, at least within the world of records. As we all well know in the beginning of June we’ll be able to listen the new Beatles album. Their new “Sgt. Pepper’s” album is rumoured to change the face of pop music altogether! Earlier this spring the Small Faces pampered us with two new albums and reportedly the Stones and the Pretty Things as well as a new and highly talented group Pink Floyd are all spending their summertime in the shadows of recording studios cutting all their new records. It must be said that the current year 1967 will be the greatest year ever for the pop music! This hall of fame well deserves but one addition... a Finnish group called the Electric Crayon Set will be releasing their second album called “What A Rotter Of A Day”. The group itself is profoundly pop, hip and psychedelic! Some old-fashioned oddballs out there may well be wondering “what on earth could the Electric Crayon Set be or what kind of music they play or can the play at all?”To spread some information to people like them let’s expose just a few of the themes, some of which are quite contradictory, which make the album so coherent: West Ham United and East End kinda humour, Aleister Crowley and the tongue in cheek sorta exorcism, the Great War and last but certainly not least the obsession-like fascination for cats. Did it get much too difficult? No, not at all, because their music conveys both the sorrow and the joy. To cut a long story short, the whole kaleidoscope of life! The first things on this record that one surely pays attention to are those utterly ...
