$14.30 Rush is no stranger to best-of compilation albums, they've released a slew of them. They are also no stranger to DVDs. To mark their 35th anniversary, they've released Working Men, which is both; it marks their first best-of live compilation exclusively from the DVD sets Rush in Rio (2003), R30 (2005), and Snakes & Arrows Live (2008). There is also an unreleased cut from R30 -- a killer version of One Little Victory. While fans may simply regard this as a record company cash grab, hardcore fans know how closely Rush monitors each release and controls all aspects of their career. On hearing these tracks without benefit of the visuals, it becomes lucidly clear that in the 21st century, Rush plays more like a hungry act looking to prove themselves rather than as ...

| | Gerry Beaudoin Just Among Friends CD (1998)
Peace & Love CD music
$11.39 Guitarist Gerry Beaudoin makes a strong impression with this CD of easygoing swing with a few twists added. No slouch as a soloist, he also is happy to share the solo spotlight. The title track is a delightful foot-tapping original blues, with the leader trading licks with veteran guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and clarinetist Billy Novick. Check out the very upbeat version of "St. Thomas," featuring matchless mandolin master David Grisman and sensitive percussion by Grover Mooney. Grisman nearly steals the show on "All Blues," but Beaudoin gets in some choice licks, too. Also worth hearing is the unusual version of "Don't Get Around Much Anymore." ~ Ken Dryden
This second acoustic recording featuring the Gerry Beaudoin Trio with jazz guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli and mandolin titan David Grisman was " ..submitted for consideration for a Grammy nomination." Award winning jazz guitarist Gerry Beaudoin, (1992 National Association of Independent Record Distributors Award for best jazz recording and 1993 and 1995 Cadence Magazine Editors Choice Award)has performed on over 22 recordings in his career. A guitarists guitarist Gerry has performed or recorded with the cream of jazz and blues guitarists including Duke Robillard, Howard Alden, John and Bucky Pizzarelli, Jimmy Bruno, Jack Wilkins, Ronnie Earl, Hubert Sumlin, and rock guitar legend turned jazz guitarist Jay Geils from the J.Geils Band. He is also a featured performer on the Mel Bay Productions DVD,Cafe Benedetto. Gerry was recently contracted by Hal Leonard Publishing to write a book/CD project on acoustic jazz guitar. A chance meeting with mandolinist David Grisman in 1990 led to their 1992 all acoustic recording, Minor Swing, with Duke Robillard sitting in on second guitar. Just Among Friends is the follow up to that first recording and jazz guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli lent his talents to this recording. To quote David Grisman" ..Gerry Beaudoin is one of the finest guitarists and composers I know. I am looking forward to more musical adventures with Gerry and his trio in the future." The Boston Globe called Gerry ".." A swing guitar master." and blues guitar legend Duke Robillard stated,"..Gerry can play anything from swing to bop and is one hell of a blues guitarist." Gerry also performs in the concert attraction New Guitar Summit, featuring Gerry with Duke Robillard ...

Peace & Love music CDs
$11.49 "The music is reminiscent of a time when music was harmonies and sweet guitar work-perhaps Simon and Garfunkle or James Taylor, but make no mistake - the sound is their own..."Aaron Fox - WFDU FM"Pure, simple, compelling. This band from Manhattan will warm your soul and make you think." Master Musicians Festival - Somerset, KYMeeting in 1993 Jerry Baldassaro and Charley Frehley formed the internationally acclaimed duo known as the Bridge. The Bridge was a regular part of the famous Fast Folk Cafe scene from 1994 until it's closing in 2000. Their music is currently being played in over 80 countries worldwide. The Bridge Band is the Bridge's cross over into country music and is still centered about music of songwriters Jerry Baldassaro and Charley Frehley, now joined by bassist/lead guitarist, Pete Mastro. The individually unique finger styles of Jerry and Charley have woven themselves into a totally new country sound brought back to earth by bass runs expertly played by Pete. Charley Frehley - songwriter, guitar, bass, keyboards, lead vocals and harmony vocals - Bronx, New York - born to a family in which music was part of everyday life. His dad was an accomplished pianist and his mom played piano for the church choir. You may all know his brother Paul Frehley - better known as "ACE Frehley" of KISS fame with whom Charley began his musical career in a rock group called "Micro-Organism". Charley ...
