On 2007's TRIALS & TRIBULATIONS, former Bone Thugs-N-Harmony member Bizzy Bone (aka Bryon McCane) offers up another set of songs that showcase his speedy tongue-twisting rhymes and soulful singing style. Despite his continued estrangement from most of the Bones crew, the prolific Ohio rapper/vocalist still mines a similar vein as his original until, as revealed on "Don't Ask Me Why" and "A Thugz Prayer."

Remixs Every song but 1 is a remix of older ones. It was a pretty big disappointment. If you do not own Evolution of Elevation you might like this cd. Hopefully he comes out with some new stuff that has more than 13 tracks. Submitted by maverick43212003 (Forest Lake, MN) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

TRASH This CD is PURE REFINED TRASH, and has nothing to do with BIZZY.
Record labels are just trying to milk the man with fake CDs that he doesn't even know about.
If you are a real BONE fan, DO NOT BUY THIS CD. Submitted by h.p_pericles (Miami, FL, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

Trials & Tribulations CD music
$11.18 The goal of Leona Lewis' 2007 debut, Spirit, was to prove that an X Factor winner could be a phenomenon not just in the U.K., but in the rest of the world. The goal of her second album, 2009's Echo, is to prove that success was no fluke, to build upon "Bleeding Love" and turn Lewis into an actual diva. Certainly, Echo in any of its incarnations -- its song listings are tailored for individual markets, with the U.K. getting a cover of Oasis' "Stop Crying Your Heart Out," while the U.S. gets a second song co-written by Justin Timberlake -- uses the chilly, synthesized "Bleeding Love" as its foundation, creating a sheet of sound equal parts Euro-pop and modern American R&B. As opposed to the often-stuffy Spirit, this is proudly modern, and if the sounds emanating from the two sides of the Atlantic might seem to be aesthetically opposed, they're both producer-driven music constructed layer by layer from rhythm to the vocal, where the overall sound matters more than what's being sung. Which isn't to say that Lewis doesn't sing the hell out of the songs on Echo: she has an uncanny gift for hitting impossible notes without seeming as if she's grandstanding. In fact, there's nary an ounce of diva in Lewis, she seems to enjoy singing for the sake of it, which helps her out on an album like Echo, where the melodies are elliptical, not catchy, designed to showcase range, not to stick in the head or evoke emotion. ...

Trials & Tribulations album
$7.49 Derek Hooten was born on September 18, 1971 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Always having a gift for music, Derek shocked his parents with his musical abilities when he began playing various songs that he taught himself on a recorder instrument at a very young age. Derek always played musical instruments from elementary school through high school, which included the clarinet, the saxophone, drums, and percussion. After graduating from high school, Derek acquired a love for writing lyrics in the form of poetry and hip-hop music. Motivated by his older brother Chuck, he learned the basics of studio recording and live performances. As a college student working two jobs, Derek continued to pursue his dream of success in hip-hop music by helping form a group called The Derelics. Without a producer, Derek and his brother Chuck saved money to purchase their first piece of equipment, a keyboard/sampler sequencer. Derek would stay up for hours mastering the equipment and creating musical tracks for the group to rap to. Through hard work and determination, the group obtained notoriety in the Cincinnati area through performances and competitions. Along the way, he continued to save money to purchase more musical equipment to perfect his sound. While producing and writing on occasion, Derek began spending more time reading the Bible and praying. Baptized at 8 years old, he never forgot about his background of attending church regularly and his mother's religious ways of ...
