| | Chris Brown Exclusive CD Chris Brown Discography of CDs
(42 Customer Reviews)
With its muscle-flexing attitude, thumping beats, and guest spot from T Pain, "Kiss Kiss," the club single on Chris Brown's EXCLUSIVE, announces that the teenaged singer is growing up fast. He's graduating from the province of cutesy `tween pop to big league urban contemporary, joining the ranks of Usher and R. Kelley with his sexy, slinky jams.
Part of EXCLUSIVE's grown-up sound comes from top-shelf production, courtesy of Scott Storch, the Underdogs, and Will i. Am, and its roster of guests, which includes Game, Big Boi, and Kanye West. But it's Brown's command of breezy, mid-tempo ballads ("With You"), head-nodding, slow-rolling grooves ("Down"), and hands-in-the-air bangers ("Wall to Wall") that makes EXCLUSIVE a first-rate R&B ride.

| | Chris Brown Graffiti CDs (2009) Deluxe Edition
Exclusive songs
$14.34 Most of Graffiti is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads, as well as a couple relatively lighthearted Europop numbers. A handful of songs deal with his relationship with Rihanna, as well as the fallout from his assault of her. ~ Andy Kellman
Most of Graffiti -- that is, the songs that do not detail what ex-girlfriend Rihanna and the rest of the world have done to him -- is a natural progression for Chris Brown. Like many young cred-seeking male singers who have just exited their teenage years, Brown clumsily emphasizes womanizing and hedonism and balances it out with a couple clean and empty ballads. Out of this portion of the album, only a couple songs leave a lasting impression, and when they do, the silly things that come out of Brown's ...
| | Very Best Of Michael Mcdonald CD (1986)
Exclusive album
$13.59 Digitally remastered by Dan Hersch and Bill Inglot (Digiprep).
A solid collection that features all of McDonald's greatest hits from the early '80s. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
For too long, there wasn't a Michael McDonald compilation available domestically. Rhino/Warner Archives' 2001 release The Very Best of Michael McDonald corrects that situation, offering a generous 16 tracks, including duets and a previous unreleased version of Higher Ground. The collection concentrates solely ...
| | Preacher's Wife CD (1996) Original Soundtrack
Exclusive CD music
$8.99 THE PREACHER'S WIFE was nominated for a 1988 Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. "I Believe In You And Me" was nominated for a 1998 Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.
That renaissance gal is at it again. As in THE BODYGUARD, Whitney Houston does double duty as star and soundtrack provider for THE PREACHER'S WIFE. Don't look for her to be sticking to the commercial pop-R&B sound that served her so well on her last soundtrack album, though. THE PREACHER'S WIFE finds Houston reaching back to her roots in gospel, and collaborating with some stellar gospel artists, including her mother, Cissy.
Several cuts here, including "Hold On, Help Is On The Way" and "I Go To The Rock," find the soulful Georgia Mass Choir supporting Houston in her return to the fold. On "He's All Over Me," Houston is joined by gospel great Shirley Caesar as well. On a more modern tip, Houston delivers "Somebody Bigger ...
| | Billy Butterfield Issued Recordings 1944-1947 CD (1999) (Import) United Kingdom
Exclusive music CDs
$15.59 Billy Butterfield is best remembered as a talented sideman, playing trumpet with various groups including Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, Les Brown, and the World's Greatest Jazz Band. But for a brief time between 1944 and 1947, he led his own big band. This European compilation gathers tracks he recorded commercially for Capitol and additional selections made strictly as radio transcriptions. Johnny Mercer is added on vocals for a swinging take of "It Ain't Necessarily So," while the leader's peppy playing is a highlight of "Oh! Lady Be Good." Butterfield also penned or co-wrote several songs, though none of them ...

---Known as one of Portland's most respected rhythm & blues singers, Lily Wilde has a long list of show business credits. Her father was jazz composer/arranger Calvin Jackson, who worked with a "who's who" of musical talent including Harry James, Lucille Ball, Errol Garner, Lionel Hampton, Leroy Vinnegar, Bobby Troup and Julie London, Johnny Otis and others. Surrounded by music, Lily turned pro at age 17. Not long after, she met Stevie Wonder and became a member of "Wonderlove," his backup vocal group, touring and appearing on the landmark album, "Music of My Mind." Later she spent several years working as a session singer and back-up vocalist, working with many name artists, including Ricky Lee Jones and saxophonist Lee Allen. ---Lily eventually relocated to Seattle, where she became a mainstay of the rhythm & blues scene. She spent three years as a member of local legends Junior Cadillac, touring Russia with the band in 1989. She also worked with Duffy Bishop, Little Bill & The Blue Notes and many others, in addition to fronting her own bands. In 1991 the Washington Blues Society named Lily "Entertainer of the Year". Lily moved to Portland in 1992 and quickly became a local favorite. In 1993 she received a Cascade Blues Society "Muddy" award as "Female Vocalist of the Year." In 1998 Lily performed with a stellar line-up of vocalists including Nancy King, Dave Frishberg and Rebecca Kilgore in a special event called "Vocal Madness". In February of 2001, she ...
