Only his fourth studio album, NOEL finds Josh Groban already tackling that canonical mainstay of the adult contemporary singer, the Christmas album. As always, NOEL is a masterfully performed set, balanced neatly between pop standards and the ... Full Descriptionmore operatic material that showcases Groban's roots. Interestingly, he sounds best on the most familiar holiday standards, like "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and Mel Torme's "The Christmas Song," both of which he invests with casual, jazzy phrasing, providing a welcome disinclination for the usual Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby homages that many other young singers in the style fall into. Even this early into his career, Groban clearly has a deeply held sense of who he is as a singer and interpreter, and this lovely collection is proof that he's one of the most exciting adult contemporary stars to appear in ages. Hide Description Noel Music Review Average Rating: (4.8 out of 5 stars) List All Reviews Listen to "Thankful" all year long This is one of those Christmas collections that I'll want to replay parts of, even when the holiday season is over. It's so joyful and uplifting, especially the duet with B. McKnight. The beautiful carol "Angels We Have Heard on High" starts out softly and by the end it's truly exhilarating. Sometimes I play that track three times consecutively while driving along! Submitted by Patricia (Akron, OH, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 2 found this helpful.

ANOTHER WINNER FOR JOSH WOW,Stunning voice again. Josh Groban has another hit with this cd. Old classics brought back to life with the voice of an angel. Josh's "I'll be home for Christmas" with the soliders from Iraq or Afghanistan just brings you to tears. And a new song "Thankful" really makes you think that you should be thankful for what you have. Great job Josh. Love, love, love this cd and looking forward to your next. YOU ROCK!!!!!!!! Noel CD music
$10.59 Josh Groban's meteoric rise to stardom began when hit producer David Foster selected him as a last-minute replacement at the dress rehearsal for the 1999 Grammy Awards, where the then-17-year-old singer stood in for Andrea Bocelli in a duet with Celine Dion. The rest, as they say, is history. But can the precocious baritone truly compete with the more seasoned powerhouses of the Classical Crossover scene?
Groban's self-titled debut album validates Foster's prescience and proves that the young vocalist is more than able to hold his own. He moves confidently through an eclectic program with a poise that belies his youth and relative inexperience. He uses his warm voice to great effect in a variety of settings provided ...

Noel music CDs
$17.69 Ethereal rock music that features lush, airy guitars, fuzz-bass, & hazy atmospheres. The sound of Ether Aura can best be described as an eclectic blend of early 90's shoegaze, dark alt-country, dream pop, and garage rock - with dark, emotional themes, swirling guitar effects, ethereal vocals, and fuzz bass."Partially made up of ex-members of 90s goth band Caelum Bliss, Ether Aura will likely please shoegazers, goths, and alt rockers alike with their debut, Crash. A heaping portion of Curve with smaller parts Lush, Garbage, and Cocteau Twins, Crash is a rhythmic, atmospheric slice of female-fronted, shoegaze-infused alt rock permeated by effects-laden guitar work and shaped into an almost undeniably impressive, if slightly derivative, debut. Immaculately produced with apparent attention to sonic layering and detail, it's a blend of more straightforward, bass-driven alt rock skeletal structures and swirling atmospheric guitar.Standouts here include the opening vocal-hook-laden, atmospheric rocker "All Doves Grey", the lovely, airy, very Cocteau Twins-esque "Falling", the killer bass groove and lead guitar work of the infectious "Once Shed Skin", and the reverb-drenched moody balladry of "I'm All You Need". The plodding rock of "About You" casts shadows of Lush, while "6 Days Yesterday" and "Why" are the disc's most upbeat, both poppy alt rock numbers that also recall Lush with Mazzy Star undertones. The latter, notably, contains a particularly hooky chorus."Hardly Know You" returns to hazy Curve-esque rock. The disc's title track, on the other hand, is a plodding ethereal ballad countered by a heavier chorus. The bass-driven "Waiting" comes in with a plethora of swirling melodic guitar, feedback, and string scrapes, coalescing to form a great delay-inflected atmospheric rocker, while the closing "In Oceans" projects an ambience similar to "I'm All You Need" and features some nice slide guitar. In the end, Ether Aura's Crash is a very solid outing, both energetic and emotive, with a handful of particularly exceptional tracks that warrant plenty of repeat play. Curve fans will either love them ...

$9.25 The lyrics of "Moving" deal with journeys trying to get some meaning, without minding the goal. Only the departure and its probable reasoning, the act of "going" photographed in its essence of motion. The arrival is excluded, it doesn't exist, just because it represents the end, the result of the journey. And the journey has no result, because its aim is just the motion. The journey can never end because symbolizes the inner walk of the man and makes the sense of life. "Moving" refers to the journey as rebellion, as declaration of independence.Journey as statement of autonomy. As the way to knowledge of our soul, of our aspiration, of our relationship with the world. To leave means to turn our back on something that is not part of us, to rebel against ...
