Whatever the meaning given to AGOG, energy, the unexpected and humour come first for this group. Officially started in 1993 after winning the Europe jazz contest the group has been reestablished after a break of several years. Three musicians from different directions joining in a variety of styles: jazz, garage-rock, country, imaginary folk music from south-east Europe and Africa and new music with "Zappa like" complexity. The group transforms all the different influences to a very rich and new group sound without turning into parody or uncontrolled mix of styles.

The compositions, mostly from guitarist Frank Wingold, are sometimes like Gothic buildings in structure, where every note has his own important place, on occasion the sensation is as of a cloud-scape where the listener feels far away in an almost fairy tale-like scene.

Frank Wingold is in Germany one of the most well known and important guitar players from the Cologne underground scene. Haanstra and Lijbaart have played in many important Dutch and international groups and toured within and outside Europe.

'Pinta o 7' in Portuguese means something akin to 'painting the town red' or 'going for it', and on this great record we get seven musicians who are really going for it. The nascent discotheque culture had started to impact on the local music scene. Italian crooners, French 'chansons', West Coast pop and local covers of rock'n'roll hits had all had their effect on the groups that still dominated the nightclubs in the era before DJs and records took over.

The prime movers in this new scene were Ed Lincoln and his group, featuring Orlann Divo, Tony Tornado and Durval Ferreira. In the manner of Ed Lincoln's classic group Primo abandoned his piano to take up the Hammond organ.

Jefferson BluesmagazineAllen Finney and EBBDaddy longlegs Productions/Blaze records DLPCD002 (47 min) On this new product, Allen Finney takes a break from his usual band Fat City Blues and is found in an environment with some of the younger generation of musicians within Swedish blues. The three capital letters EBB stand for Eric's Blues Band. Together with Allen Finney, however, they don't sound as we are normally used to hearing them. Here they have left the Hendrix influences and taken the step down into roots music, in the mix of blues, folk, a bit of country roots, and singer/songwriter tradition. Allen is responsible for the songs and Eric Hansson for production and musical arrangement. As a matter of fact, Eric already began playing live with Allen when he was fourteen. So they are old acquaintances that meet here.
