Singer/Songwriter Nicky Harris was raised and still resides in Greenville, NC. He received his first guitar at the age of 13. A Christmas gift from Santa, purchased from Sears, the store at that time was referred to as Sears & Roebuck. Also included was an amplifier. He still has the amp but unfortunately he traded the guitar. Within a year he had traded up to a Fender Mustang (Another one he wishes he had kept) and was playing in a band named "The Furies", along with his Brother and some other friends. The "Furies" started out as ana instrumental band, covering songs by "The Ventures", the group Nicky has always given credit for mostly influencing his style of playing.By the time he was out of High School, he had been in and out of several bands and had played about every kind of music. Nicky credits these years for giving him the feel for Rock, Rhythm and Blues, Country and Soul.Through the years he has performed it all and feels comfortable with any of it. This is the basis for his music.Nicky formed his owned record label in 1979 ,and released several singles, obtaining quite a bit of airplay. He even had a "Top Single Pick" in Billboard and an "Indie Feature Pick" in Cashbox. His first full length album was "Blame It On The Moonlight". This was followed up by the self-titled "Nicky Harris" and "Something For Everyone". He also has a Single release "The Best Times Ever", which has a Caribbean sound. In 2001 Nicky released "Carolina Sand". The CD was nominated for CD of the year at the 2001 Cammy Awards. The following year, 2002, Nicky's pinned song, "Loveline, was on the Ripete Records compilation CD,"Dancin' USA".In 2003 Nicky had two new original recordings on the Surfside Records compilation CD, "Beach Music Patrol".Nicky's fans ...
