Combining the stuttering rhythmic blasts of classic hardcore, the high-flying guitar chops of hotshot metal, and touches of prog atmospherics, Every Bridge Burned leaves no heavy stone unturned on AUN APRENDO. Aun Aprendo CD music The jugular-tearing rant "I'm Down With Progress" rests easily next to the mysterious, keyboard-and-electronics-heavy "Transposition," while subtle tones creep into the choked, furious opening track, "12/21/12. History's Mysteries - Joledo: Man, Myth, or Legend
Aun Aprendo music CDs. As stout as a caveman's club and as precise as a scalpel, Chicago's Veil of Maya have made one of the most thrilling American tech-metal albums yet with THE COMMON MAN'S COLLAPSE. Complex guitar leads wind and bend like a spider's web around thudding jackhammer rhythms that are as dexterous as they are punishing. Songs like "Pillars" accent the noise with shades of mood and texture, recalling intelligent hall-of-famers Meshuggah. Veil of Maya's jaw-dropping technical proficiency, however, is never used to camouflage a lack of songwriting chops or ideas. Their stuff is as perfectly resolved as an equation.

Ironically, though, this relative simplicity may constitute an even bigger advantage, for making this Michigan-based quintet far more accessible than the competition, and their more-is-better school of instrumental overindulgence. Since many of those bands' hyper-technical fireworks ultimately boil down to mostly fruitless chaotic exhibitionism, For the Fallen Dreams' comparatively straightforward, even predictable, melodic metalcore items like "New Beginnings," "Never Again," and "Vengeance" sound welcomingly familiar, and offer some striking melodic ...
