Released in 2007, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE consists primarily of live tracks and rare demos selected by Mudvayne's dedicated internet-savvy following. Standouts of PEOPLE include a pummeling concert rendition of the Los Angeles-based heavy-rock act's breakthrough single, "Dig," and a spare demo version of the eerie "Falling Into Sleep." Rounding out this stopgap release are two new tunes--the dynamic "Dull Boy," which spotlights Chad Gray's tormented vocals and Greg Tribbett's searing guitar lines, and a metallic cover of the Police's "King of Pain."

interesting ideal abosultly for the fans covering every inch of space this band covers. the live cuts show off just how well this band can actually play- demos showing where the ideals starts (but who cares about checking out the rough parts when the final versions have more dynamics and phrasing). so what do you get that you haven't before; dull boy- a strong hit that could easily have been the lead single from the forth coming album and king of pain which these guys really don't show off their talents which we've been listening to for the past six years. really not as strong of intensity they displayed before. Mudvayne Rocks This is the best Mudvayne album to date. Dull Boy is the best new song and King Of Pain is better than the original. Submitted by Randy (Leesville, LA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? YesNo This review is for a different format.
Best of, W/ a twist... The entire soundtrack list was determined by the fans, while the production type of each song was chosen by the band (studio, live, or demo). The demo versions were surprisingly great because it displayed the "birth" of a song compared to the final studio version. Submitted by Brad (Portland, OR, USA) Was This Review Helpful?
