Misteriosevoci songs. Perhaps second to only Freddie Mercury, Gary Glitter was the most flamboyant figure of the early '70s U.K. glam rock movement. With a bouffant hairdo, snazzy clothes, high platform boots, and hairy chest exposed, to the delight of his female fans, Glitter rocked his way to the top of the British charts, enjoying a string of big hit singles.
1998's 16-track compilation, THE ULTIMATE, is a fine introduction to one of glam rock's leading artists. You can't go wrong with such glam standards as "Rock & Roll Pt. 2," "Do You Wanna Touch Me," "I Didn't Know I Loved You," "Doing Alright With the Boys," and "Oh Yes! You're Beautiful," which are all included here in their mascara-caked glory.

Misteriosevoci music CDs. Armstrong fans and fans of the early Swing Era rejoice! While not quite the caliber of his Hot Five/Seven recordings, Armstrong (in the company of bandleader/pianist Russell) recorded wonderful big band versions of some of his classic tunes from the years 1929-1941. Unlike some of Armstrong's past groups, the Russell band had many fine musicians that could more than keep up with him, including J.C. Higginbottam, Red Allen, Pops Foster, Albert Nicholas and many others.
These tunes swing like mad with plenty of hot solos buoyed along by the (fast!) rhythm. As a bonus there's a few tunes with a small group featuring the clarinet and soprano saxophone of the great Sidney Bechet, as well as appearances by Eddie Condon (on banjo, not guitar) and Lonnie Johnson. The sound quality is very good and there's almost 78 minutes of joyous, hard-swinging jazz. A great deal, anyway you look at it.

Misteriosevoci CD music. Three different female pianists from the 1950s are featured on this interesting (if brief) CD reissue. Adelaide Robbins, who had a style somewhere between bebop and Dave Brubeck, is heard in 1956 on the only date that she ever led; ...
