Dave leads one of the best outfits on the British Blues scene." - Phil Wight, Blues & Rhythm"Wallace Coleman should be ranked among the very best of today's blues harp players." - Living Blues MagazineThe one and only harp player ever hired by Robert Jr Lockwood. "...one of post-war Chicago Blues' most indomitable torchbearers" - Blues RevueDave Thomas is a very talented guitarist/vocalist who has performed all around the world, most recently as the Dave Thomas Band, releasing two CD's, Black Dog Boogie and Blues for Otis in 2005. He has been compared to B.B. King. He has appeared on stage with Fleetwood Mac, Genesis, Deep Purple, Wishbone Ash, Mose Allison, and the Steve Miller Band. Dave had the privilege to play for Paul McCartney at the Texas Embassy in London in 1996 at an event honoring Buddy Holly. Dave appears frequently with American blues artists visiting the UK. Wallace Coleman is well known in the blues community for his harmonica playing (he has been compared to Little Walter) and rich singing voice. Wallace is a 2005 Ohio Heritage Fellowship award recipient, winner of the 2002 Blues Review Magazine Best Musician award for harmonica, and performed for 10 years with Robert Jr. Lockwood, including the 1998 Grammy nominated I've Got to Find Me a Woman. Dave Thomas met Wallace Coleman early in 2006 while Wallace was performing in the UK. They appeared together at a Shake Down Blues Concert and a good friendship and performing partnership ensued. Wallace invited Dave to Cleveland in the spring of 2006 where Dave was privileged to meet Wallace's mentor, Robert Jr. Lockwood and was able to perform with the Lockwood All Stars and Wallace's band as well. Dave and Wallace were playing some blues on the front porch of Wallace's home in Cleveland when they decided to record an album together. Plans were made for that November and the rest is history...An talented ensemble of musicians contributed to the recording of Repossession Blues including Dean Cohen, Gary Nowak, and Duane Carnes on guitar; Vernondo Parker and Scott Flowers on drums; George Lee and Andrew Tomecko on bass; Bill Lestock on mandolin/fiddle/acoustic guitar; Eddie Tomecko on acoustic guitar/backing vocals/percussion; and Jody Getz on backing vocals/percussion. The CD was recorded and engineered by Eddie Tomecko at Audioworks in Parma Heights and was produced by Jody Getz, Wallace Coleman, and David Thomas. | | Derek Trucks Joyful Noise CD (2002)
Repossession Blues album
$6.75 For his first solo project after replacing Dickie Betts in the Allman Brothers Band, 23-year-old Derek Trucks pushes the stylistic envelope even further than on his last diverse release. Prodding into Latin, Indian, and fusion jazz, this stylistically varied effort exudes enough blues and funky R&B to keep the Allman Brothers Band fan's attention while expanding their boundaries -- sometimes radically -- beyond what the typical Southern rock fan might expect ...

| | Eric "Scorch" Scortia Night On The Town CD (1996)
Repossession Blues music CDs
$13.15 Eric "Scorch" Scortia joined the Seattle-based Heads Up label with his soul-jazz/hard bop session A Night On the Town, which combined Texas jazz influences with the organ-combo sound of Philadelphia. Like Richard "Groove" Holmes, Jimmy McGriff, Charles Earland and countless other organists who played around Philly, Scortia has a sound based on the seminal Philly native Jimmy Smith. But there are enough Texas influences to set the album apart from the many Hammond B-3 dates recorded on the East Coast. In addition to providing four of his own songs, Scortia interprets Benny Golson's "Killer Joe" and the standard "Softly as in a Morning Sunrise," which is heard as a ballad. Some of his choices aren't obvious ones for a jazz player, including the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby" and Roger Miller's 1965 country hit "King of the Road," both of which lend themselves to an improvisatory jazz setting rather nicely. Although not outstanding, this is a decent CD that B-3 lovers will enjoy. ~ Alex Henderson
Heads Up International's release of A Night On the Town marks Eric Scortia's national and international solo debut, and it's an album brimming with as much passion and excitement as the man himself."The main reason behind the great diversity is that I don't want to be pigeonholed into any one style," says Eric of A Night On the Town, which features pop, jazz, soul and, of course, blues. "I've played the gamut, from down home Southern blues to R&B to rock, and grew up influenced by everything from the Beatles and ...
