Simply put, Michael Schenker's Doctor Doctor is a covers album. It features his own backing band with notable vocalists and instrumentalists like Paul Di'Anno, Sebastian Bach, Joe Lynn Turner, Leslie West, Tommy Shaw, and others. The sound is pure '80s hard rock and power ballads, and the track selection ranges from Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" to Nazareth's "Hair of the Dog," Pink Floyd's "Money," Phil Mogg's "Doctor Doctor" (of course), and a hair metal version of Otis Blackwell's "All Shook Up" (that's right, the one made immortal by Elvis Presley). It is what it is, but Schenker's amazingly dedicated fans will have great fun with this one. ~ Thom Jurek

this cd is great great singers and as always michael is dead on. however i interviewed michael schenker and this cd was put out without his permision. and it was not supposed to be a msg cd. msg dosent do covers. kulick calls this cd something else in the uk. so dont give the money to the wrong person. michael has not recieved any money for this cd. it basicly stolen and put out illeagaly.

 Fantastic music
Michael Schenker continues to be on the the premiere rock guitarists of all time. With the addition of singers it was a fantastic album, great songs!!!

Schenker is still an all the times real guitar master
Well, I did not know this cd had been edited without MS permission. That is a fck shame; however, the music is great though sometimes MS riffs get lost in the middle of the voice of the singer in turn. Anyway, MS is MS here and in China; I mean the he is a real GUITAR MASTER beyond our criticism. Long live Schenker and UFO, of course.
I got the cd at a Mix Up record store here in Mexico City, where MS is adored by so many fans. The cost was about more or less the same as you offered it (350 pesos, that is about 14 dollars more or less).

There have been countless cover albums over the years, where established rock artists redo favorites from their formative years (David Bowie's PIN UPS, Rush's FEEDBACK, etc.), and the 2005 Michael Schenker release HEAVY HITTERS treads upon similar terrain. Few rock guitarists are as talented Michael Schenker, yet he hasn't enjoyed the mainstream success he richly deserves. Maddening personal and business problems have weighed him down for most of his career. He joined Scorpions as a teenager before serving a turbulent stint in UFO that still managed to produce a handful of classic '70s hard rock albums -- all of which should have been big hits.
