The PaperSons are four extremely talented guys from the Bay Area playing rhythmically driven alternative rock illustrated with beautiful, open harmonies. Their sound has been compared to such bands as Cursive, Queens of the Stone Age and Thrice, with a personal nod to Sparta, with whom they share a taste for hardcore. Borne from the ashes of the group's freshman band, Midnight in a Perfect World, The PaperSons are the end result of one member change and some serious soul searching. The founding members are guitarist Phil Pristia, bassist Fran Dickinson, and Dennis Rodriguez on Drums. September 18, 1983 is a day that will go down in Kisstory. It was then that Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, and replacement members Vinnie Vincent and Eric Carr took off their signature makeup and revealed themselves on MTV. LICK IT UP was released, and a new chapter unfolded.
Using the same production team as CREATURES OF THE NIGHT, Michael James Jackson, Simmons and Stanley came up with the same bone crunching sound as CREATURES, but with a slightly more polished feel. "Exciter" kicks off the album with a machine gun riff, which leads into Gene Simmons proclaiming he's "Not For The Innocent". The title track was a modest hit in the U.S., faired better in the U.K. and made for quite an entertaining video. "All Hell's Breakin' Loose" is a gritty streetwise track where Paul Stanley actually raps! "And On The 8th Day" is a powerful anthem that closes an exciting album.
With Vinnie Vincent's expert guitar playing and songwriting abilities (he co-wrote 8 out of the 10 tracks) and Eric Carr's powerful backbeat, LICK IT UP proves that behind all the explosions and firebreathing, the band can deliver the goods musically.

Chad Washington is a soulful musician who carefully crafts a unique rock sound out of his blues roots. He began playing the piano at the age of six and guitar at the age of thirteen. By the time he reached high school, Chad was already playing in a band with some of the most gifted musicians from the local college. This is where he began to experiment with fusing musical styles and learning how to draw from multiple influences. He continued to study music formally in College as well as in the local bars and restaurants. On any given song, the influences may range from Earth, Wind, and Fire, to Pink Floyd, and then Pantera. The beauty of this is that no song sounds the same, but Chad has still succeeded in creating a sound that is uniquely his own. Over the years, Chad has taught himself to play several other instruments and how to produce and engineer many different genres of music. This has enabled him to not only write unique music, but also deliver a unique production to enhance the listeners experience.
