UFO had finally fulfilled their potential with 1977's exceptional hard rock tour de force, LIGHTS OUT, and released another prime slice of heavy metal just one year later, OBSESSION. While most '70s Euro-metal bands such as Black Sabbath, Judas ... Full DescriptionPriest, etc., dealt largely with doom and gloom, UFO proved to have more in common with such US melodic hard rockers as Van Halen.
OBSESSION proved to be UFO's most successful studio album ever, on the strength of such hard rocking highlights as "Only You Can Rock Me" and "Ain't No Baby." Even though guitarist Michael Schenker again pushes the songs to the limit here with his superb playing, OBSESSION would prove to be his final studio album with UFO. After just one more release, the classic live set STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT, Schenker left to briefly rejoin the Scorpions, before launching the Michael Schenker Group.
2008 digitally remastered and expanded edition of the British Hard Rock group's 1978 album featuring three previously unreleased live bonus tracks: 'Hot 'N' Ready', 'Pack It Up And Go' and 'Ain't No Baby'. Obsession was UFO's last studio album recorded with guitarist Michael Schenker. 14 tracks featuring 'Only You Can Rock Me' and 'Hot 'N' Ready'. EMI.
Recorded at C.P. McGregor's and Western Avenue, Los Angeles, California and The West 3rd Carrier Station, Beverly Hills, California.

Obsession music CDs
$14.49 This reissue is what re-masters are all about. While the original master of UFO's HEAVY PETTING buried the quintet's sonic attack in a muddy mix, this one rediscovers their power and mints the band as a crucial link between early-`70s blues-based hard rock and late-`70s British heavy metal. Every track sounds exhilarating here--including the way-over-the-top electric harpsichord on "Belladonna"--and will rekindle any rock fan's love for these under-appreciated shredders. This reissue includes five previously unreleased tracks, all worth the price of admission for longtime fans.
Additional Tracks
UFO (Rock): Danny Peyronel (vocals, keyboard); Phil Mogg (vocals); Michael Schenker (guitar); Pete Way (bass guitar); Andy Parker (drums).

$12.09 Up until their 1974 album, PHENOMENON, England's UFO had issued several albums that did little to expand their cult fan base at home, let alone worldwide. But through an early-'70s tour with German metallists the Scorpions, they finally found the missing piece to the puzzle--guitar wizard Michael Schenker. UFO convinced Schenker to leave the Scorpions (which wasn't an easy task, since his older brother Rudolf was a member), and their '74 release sounds like a band reborn.
Schenker's stellar playing seems to have lit a fire under the compositions, many of which rank amongst UFO's all-time best--namely the soon-to-be live show-stoppers "Doctor Doctor," and "Rock Bottom" (as evidenced on UFO's classic STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT live set). PHENOMENON set the stage perfectly for such future hit UFO releases as LIGHTS OUT and OBSESSION.
2008 digitally remastered and expanded edition of this classic album featuring six bonus tracks. UFO are the hard-edged British Rock band formed by Pete Way, Phil Mogg and Andy Parker joined by guitar great Michael Schenker. 1974's Phenomenon was the band's third release and the first to feature Schenker. It also remains one of their most successful releases to date. Bonus tracks include two demos produced by Dave Edmunds ('Sixteen' and 'Oh My'), two German-only single sides ('Giver Her The Gun' and 'Sweet Little Thing') one unreleased studio track ('Sixteen') and a BBC1 Live recording of 'Doctor Doctor'. EMI.
Recorded at Morgan Studios, London, England.
UFO: Phil Mogg (vocals); Michael Schenker (guitar); Pete Way (bass); Andy Parker (drums).

Obsession CD music
$13.35 Although Euro-rockers UFO had built a solid fan base worldwide amongst metal heads with such releases as PHENOMENON, FORCE IT, and NO HEAVY PETTING, the band had yet to issue a solid album from beginning to end. This changed with their 1977 release, LIGHTS OUT.
As with the aforementioned titles, guitarist Michael Schenker's six-string heroics are the real determining factor to UFO's sound--look no further than his fluid soloing skills on the barnstorming title track. But you'll find other metallic standouts throughout LIGHTS OUT, such as the album-opening good times anthem "Too Hot to Handle," and the Zeppelin-esque "Electric Phase," as well as more subdued fare such as "Try Me." LIGHTS OUT remains one of UFO's finest recordings.
2008 digitally remastered and expanded edition of the British Hard Rock group's 1977 album featuring four previously unreleased live bonus tracks recorded at the Roundhouse in '76: 'Lights Out', 'Getting Ready', 'Love To Love' and 'Try Me'. Though the album was overlooked in the U.S., it was hugely celebrated by their European and Japanese fanbase and critics alike. 12 tracks including the classic 'Too Hot To Handle'. EMI.
UFO: Paul Raymond (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Phil Mogg (vocals); Michael Schenker (guitar); Pete Way (bass); Andy Parker (drums).
