Don't Go Down to Sorrow CD (2007)
65daysofstatic discography 2006 was an amazing year for 65daysofstatic. After releasing their second album, One Time For All Time, the Sheffield quartet set about touring relentlessly. They revisited many of the UK cities they had played in before, and also ventured abroad for the fit time, taking in nine countries along the way. One of those was Japan, where they played the Summer Sonic Festival in front of 10,000 people. In December, they went into the studio and recorded their best album yet - The Destruction Of Small Ideas. "Don't Go Down To Sorrow" is the first single from the album, backed with two new B-sides. The band will be touring extensively this spring, including SXSW, Japan and Europe.
Audio Mixers: Murray Mackay; Graham Deas.
Recording information: Sub Station, Rosyth.

One Time for All Time CD (2006)
65daysofstatic songs Instrumental alternative rock band 65daysofstatic mixes soft, piano-dominated passages with periods of powerful rock playing on the nine tracks making up One Time for All Time. The four musicians, identified in the CD booklet as Simon, Paul, Rob, and Joe, are freed from conventional song structures by the lack of lyrics and vocals, but they are also faced with creating rock structures that can dominate the foreground as a vocalist would. They succeed by varying the dynamics of their playing considerably, setting up musical patterns with spare, delicate playing, only to fill the sound picture with furious drumming and guitar power chords for a dense, aggressive feel that may die away yet again. It's music that is more about mood than meaning, suggesting the band may have a future in film scoring. For now, they sound like what Radiohead might if Thom Yorke never bothered to go near the microphone. ~ William Ruhlmann
