Museum Of Imaginary Animals CD (2000)
Alex Clare CD discography It's true that Pram has shared the same bubbly, French-pop sound of Stereolab and Broadcast. But that's where the similarities end. A few cuts into The Museum of Imaginary Animals, the seven-piece band -- which includes the recent addition of ex-Broadcast drummer Steve Perkins, no less -- makes a beautiful departure into a surreal journey of sound. Rosie Cuckston's reserved vocals help, but it's Pram's original combination of devices (flute, trumpet, and theremin, to name a few) that occasionally evoke an aquatic atmosphere, not unlike Meddle-era Pink Floyd. Like the imaginary creature on the album's back cover, this fifth full-length from Pram is certainly mythical. ~ Kenyon Hopkin
Pram: Rosie Cuckston (vocals, keyboards); Sam Owen (guitar, flute, clarinet, accordion, keyboards, bass); Matthew Eaton (guitar, keyboards, bass, samples); Nick Sales (zither, keyboards, bass, Theremin, samples); Alex ...

 Alex Clare Biography
London, England musician Artist grew up listening to his father's jazz records, was drawn to blues and soul (Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder), and eventually drum`n'bass and U.K. garage. Though Clare took up the trumpet and drums as a youngster, he eventually placed an emphasis on guitar and songwriting, playing open mike nights with original material. A demo earned him a deal with the Island label in the U.K., and he was set up with producers Diplo and Switch, who contributed to the making of Clare's first album, The Lateness of the Hour, released in July 2011. Despite the producers' reputations for creating busy, bass-heavy club music, the album did place something of a spotlight on Clare's soul-searching songwriting and deep, rich voice. ~ Andy Kellman
