Anne Murray music CDs Anne Murray's peak as a recording artist is captured here on Universal's 2013 collection Icon, a budget-line disc that has 11 of her biggest hits. Greatest Hits CD (1980)
Anne Murray songs It covers Murray's first decade in the international limelight, beginning with "Snowbird" and concluding with "Could I Have This Dance?," a track from the 1980 movie Urban Cowboy. It ranges from the folky "Danny's Song" to her cover of The Beatles' "You Won't See Me," but the middle-of-the-road approach is quite obvious. ~ Tom Roland

All of Me CDs (2005)
Anne Murray albums Following in the footsteps of Rod Stewart, who has enjoyed considerable success with his nostalgic forays into the world of pop songs from the early 20th century, Canadian singer Anne Murray contributes her own take on a variety of pop classics with 2005's ALL OF ME. (The album was originally released in Canada as I'LL BE SEEING YOU.)
Murray's classy, casual delivery is ideally suited to songs as varied as "Dream a Little Dream of Me" (made famous by the Mamas & the Papas), which gets a jazz-combo treatment, and Judy Garland's signature tune, "Over the Rainbow," with its ethereal strings/piano/clarinet arrangement. Murray's voice is reminiscent of Joni Mitchell at times, and her choice of material ranges from the beautifully evocative "Twilight Time" to the little-heard 1930s gem "My Buddy," which Murray poignantly dedicates to the memory of her friend, Cynthia McReynolds. The second disc of this double-CD set is a collection of Murray's own classics, with songs dating from 1973 to 1994, including "Snowbird" and "You Needed Me." Throughout this down-tempo and often touching release, Murray's stature as a peerless interpreter of light, country-tinged pop remains unmatched.

Love Songs CD (1975)
Anne Murray music CDs Collectables' budget-line Love Songs release gathers 12 romantic themes taken from country-pop vocalist Anne Murray's late-'70s catalog on Capitol Records. While the disc contains a few recognizable cover versions, "What's Forever For," and "Dream Lover," the selection is a bit too haphazard to make the collection a good introduction. Please note that this edition includes the same track listing as the 2000 Madacy release of the same name. ~ Al Campbell

Croonin' CD (1993)
Anne Murray discography CROONIN' is Murray's a tribute to the most celebrated vocalists of the 1950's. This release contains 18 cover versions of the songs made famous originally by singers such as Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day, Bing Crosby and Perry Como.
Murray drops any pretense of singing pure country and steps into a Patti Page/Peggy Lee guise instead. The whole set consists of her taking on chestnuts like "The Wayward Wind," "Secret Love," and "Cry Me a River." ~ Dan Cooper
Recorded at Sounds Interchange, Toronto, Canada.
Personnel: Anne Murray, Tommy West (vocals); Mike Francis (classical, acoustic & electric guitar); Bob Mann (acoustic & electric guitar); Adele Armin, Vera Tarnowsky (violin); Terrence Helmer (viola); Richard Armin (cello); Mel Berman (oboe); Vernon Dorge (alto, tenor & soprano saxophone); Guido Basso (flugelhorn, harmonica); Doug Riley (acoustic piano, Hammond B-3, Fender Rhodes); Steve Sexton (keyboards, synthesizer); Peter Appleyard (vibraphone); Brian Leonard (marimba); Peter Cardinali (bass); Barry Keane (drums, percussion); Shirley Eikhard, Debbie Schaal Ankeny, Colina Phillips, Vivienne Williams, Bruce Murray (background vocals).

Country Croonin' CDs (2002)
Anne Murray songs Serving as a companion to Anne Murray's 1993 collection CROONIN', (a tribute to pre-rock & roll artists of the '50s), COUNTRY CROONIN' more than lives up its equally intriguing predecessor. For an artist whose spent her career straddling the worlds of pop and country music, this two-CD set brings the Canuck siren full circle. In her quest for material, Murray is fairly forthright about her biases. The Everly Brothers, Kris Kristofferson, and Don Gibson all rate highly with multiple selections. Murray's impeccable taste also finds her digging up plenty of other classics including the 1963 Skeeter Davis smash "End Of The World," the Volunteer State official anthem "Tennessee Waltz," and the Hank Williams nugget "Take These Chains From My Heart."
Other artists getting a tip of the hat include fellow Canadian legend Hank Snow ("A Fool Such As I"), Patsy Cline ("I Fall To Pieces"), and Elvis Presley ("Can't Help Falling In Love With You," "Always On My Mind"). Best of all is "Let It Be Me," a sweet-sounding Vince Gill duet that was originally a 1960 Top 10 hit for The Everly Brothers. Stellar liner notes by noted Nashville music journalist Robert K. Oermann help make COUNTRY CROONIN' a keeper.

What About Me CD (1968)
Anne Murray music CDs What About Me is Anne Murray's first album, originally released in 1968 on Canada's tiny Arc label. After Murray signed with Capitol in 1969 and began making hits, Pickwick reissued her Arc recordings for the American market. The folk arrangements bring the acoustic guitar to the foreground, and Murray's confident vocals show that she was already fully developed as a singer. "There Goes My Everything" ventures into folk-rock territory, but most of the music, which includes songs by Tom Paxton and Joni Mitchell, is in the tradition of the Canadian folk scene associated with Gordon Lightfoot and Ian & Sylvia. Murray looks even younger in the cover photos than she would have been when this album was made, but her mature performances make her debut nearly as appealing as her better-known major-label recordings. ~ Greg Adams

Personnel: Anne Murray (vocals).

I'll Be Seeing You CD (2004)
Anne Murray discography Anne Murray, the lovely, sturdy alto voice that flew "Snowbird," "Danny's Song," and "You Needed Me" to the top of the charts, turns her eye toward that canon of tunes in the Great American Songbook. Murray approaches these stellar standards with nicely balanced doses of melancholy, torch, and twang (not unlike the great Patsy Cline). And classy jazz-tinged arrangements perfectly frame the singer's fine voice in a subtle mix of piano, clarinet, flugelhorn, and occasional accordion.
Canadian release by the legendary Anne Murray of standards from the 40s and 50s. Includes such tracks as 'As Time Goes By', 'Over The Rainbow', and 'Don't Get Around Much Anymore'. 15 tracks on EMI. 2004
