 Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra Biography
Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra albums Arguably the most devoted students of the legendary Nigerian Afrobeat star Fela Kuti, Antibalas (Spanish for bulletproof) are a multi-ethnic ensemble from Brooklyn, New York. Both musically and ideologically inspired by Kuti, Antibalas has released numerous albums of politically charged, groove-soaked Afro-funk, jazz, and soul since its inception in 1997. The group has gained notoriety via relentless touring and highly honed musical chops, appearing on the mainstage at the Bonaroo music festival in 2006.
