Branford Marsalis Biography
Saxophonist Artist (along with his trumpet-icon brother Wynton) helped usher in a new age of traditional jazz in the 1980s. High-profile gigs with Miles Davis and Sting soon elevated him to stardom, as he proved himself a brilliant tenor player at home in any style from jazz to pop to funk. Branford also sports a charismatic personality that comes through in his music and grabs listeners from the first note, and led to substantial film roles (SCHOOL DAZE, MO' BETTER BLUES).
