Chase Brady has been a student of mathematics for most of his life, from his first classes at Stetson University continuing through his career as a math professor at West Virginia University. But when he's not talking statistics and polynomials, Chase also spends a great deal of time studying the human condition. He does this mainly through writing and playing music. His songs take listeners into worlds they might not have explored before, microcosms of humanity that seem familiar - almost too familiar - and yet so strange at times that one feels as if another life has been waiting in plain view, just biding its time until it is discovered. Chase Brady music CDs Who am I? Well, currently, I teach freshman math at the University of Toledo. In my spare time, I play guitar, lap steel and mandolin. I also sing and write songs. Since I teach in Toledo, OH and my wife is Parkersburg, WV, I live in two places. That's a little rough. I hope to retire soon, go back to Parkersburg and focus entirely on music. That's my real passion. When I'm in Parkersburg, I'm in a band called "Still Crazy". In Toledo, I play regularly at the open mike at Manhattan's. I'm working toward lining up gigs and perhaps a partner for an acoustic duo. Musical Influences: Most importantly, the "Cellar Door" coffeehouse.
