David Byrne Biography
After the Talking Heads broke up at the end of the '80s, Artist went even deeper into the exploration of world music that he'd begun on 1979's Fear of Music. He incorporated strong elements of Latin, Cuban, and African music into his solo ventures, but of equal importance was his establishment of the Luaka Bop label, an important outlet for world music. He's also known for the collaborational aspect of his work, including lauded albums recorded with Brian Eno (My Life in the Bush of Ghosts), Fatboy Slim (Here Lies Love), and St. Vincent (Love This Giant).
