Recorded live at The Knitting Factory, New York, New York on December 22, 1990. Trombonist Joseph Bowie co-led and organized numerous editions of Defunkt, many with longtime section mate Bobo Shaw. Shaw wasn't aboard for this 1990 concert, but Bowie's crackling trombone solos remained a vital part of the group's sound. Guitarist Bill Bickford filled in the gaps with an array of spicy, flashy riffs, colors, and supporting phrases, while the other members smoothly handled the constantly changing atmosphere.
