Making the Grade CD (2003)
Diffuser songs Among its energetic bursts of poppy, punkish energy, Diffuser's 2001 effort, Injury Loves Melody, still clung to vestiges of the band's noisier indie rock past. It made for a more ambitious record, but one also fraught with continuity errors -- Diffuser couldn't decide whether they wanted to go all-out with the pop screech. If that was the case, then frontman Tomas Costanza has finally made the decision and taken the pop plunge. He's the sole songwriter for Making the Grade, and has turned in a completely unthreatening, tinfoil-and-plastic batch of songs about girls and sarcasm, all amped to 11 and akin to the outsized modern rock of types like Lit and Goldfinger. Actually, with perfect pop-punk anthems like "Here's to You" and "New High" rushing past in a blur of pep, catch phrases, ...

Injury Loves Melody CD (2001)
Diffuser CD discography INJURY LOVES MELODY contains a hidden track after "I Don't Have The Nerve."
Lyrically, emocore is a very different world from the commercial arena rock and pop-metal of the 1970s and 1980s. A full generation down the road, Jodie Foster was old enough to play the mother, but the role was taken by Jamie Lee Curtis, and the daughter became rising actress/singer Lindsay Lohan. It's doubtful that there was a soundtrack to the original film, but in the age of pop music/film tie-ins, the new movie is filled to the brim with pop-punk by the likes ...

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen CD (2004)
Diffuser albums For the soundtrack to her comedy CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN, actress/singer Lindsay Lohan steps up to the microphone on four tracks. Lohan kicks things off with "Drama Queen," an upbeat, electronics-laced rock song that recalls No Doubt and highlights the star's remarkably capable voice. On "What Are You Waiting For," Lohan works through a thoughtful, soaring anthem, while a concise medley of "Don't Move On/Living for the City/Changes" shows that she can tackle pop classics. Finally, she contributes another guitar-driven rocker "A Day in the Life" (not to be confused with the Beatles' song). Elsewhere, Atomic Kitten collaborates with Kool & ...
