Axeology 1979-2001 CDs (2012)
Edgar Riley albums Providing the band with another chance to sparkle, Axeology 1979-2001 takes a look back at the career of hard rockers Axe with a career retrospective that spans over 20 years and six albums. As purveyors of hard-edged melodic rock, it's a bit of a surprise that Axe never achieved the recognition of other radio-friendly hard rock acts like Scorpions, but with a collection like this, listeners can go back and see what they missed out on. While this collection is the perfect starting point for anyone unfamiliar with the band, its combination of remastered and re-recorded tracks should be enough to please die-hard Axe fans, giving just about anyone who has ever held a lighter up during a power ballad a reason to dig into this all-encompassing anthology. ~ Gregory Heaney

Offering CD (1981)
Edgar Riley CD discography Kicking off with their raison d'etre "Rock 'n' Roll Party in the Street," Offering proved to be the moment of glory for Florida's Axe. That single remains a great slice of heartland party rock, and the rest of the record ably falls in line. While the quaint "Video Inspiration" berates artificial imagery, "Jennifer" serenades ...

Ripped opener "Heat in the Street" bears a similar title to "Rock 'N' Roll Party in the Streets," Axe's biggest-ever hit from their previous offering, Offering (the CD ...
