Game Biography
Rapper Jayceon Taylor, better known in the hip-hop world as Artist, turned to music for redemption after his wild youth led to a near-fatal shooting. By the time he recovered from his wounds, he had developed a formidable style rooted in old-school West Coast gangsta rap. It's fitting then, that he wound up recording for Dr. Dre's Aftermath label, which helped propel the rapper to massive success with his debut album, 2005's The Documentary. One year later, Doctor's Advocate also performed well, followed by 2008's LAX, and one of his biggest career successes in 2011, The R.E.D. Album.
