Gerald Levert Biography
Gerald Levert CD discography As a member of the 1980s R&B vocal group LeVert, Artist quickly established himself as a passionate, world-class soul singer with a flair for slow jams and love ballads. In his solo career, from the '90s on, he expanded his role to include producer and songwriter, working with celebrated R&B stars like Teddy Pendergrass and Barry White, and with his father Eddie Levert's band, the O'Jays. He scored over 30 hit singles on the R&B and pop charts, and in the mid-'90s formed the super-group LSG with fellow singing stars Keith Sweat and Johnny Gill. Sadly, Levert died of a heart attack in 2006 at the age of 40, leaving a posthumous album, a Grammy nomination, a book (co-written with his father), and a legion of mourning friends, family, and fans.
