R&B crooner Artist has modeled his career after musical heroes Prince and Michael Jackson, and has covered tunes by both artists. However, where those performers have rock leanings, Artist has rooted himself in smooth contemporary R&B with a healthy dose of hip-hop. Best known for his collaborations with production ace Timbaland, Artist burst onto the scene in 1996 with Artist...THE BACHELOR. Since then, his fame and success have only increased; Artist now boasts superstar guests on his albums, acts in films and TV shows, and even has his own fragrances.
