Holly Cole Biography
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1963, singer Artist got her start in Toronto's fertile, cross-cultural jazz and pop scene of the mid-1980s. As the leader of the Artist Trio, she made her recording debut with the 1989 holiday EP CHRISTMAS BLUES and 1990's GIRL TALK respectively. During the 1990s, Cole drifted into the adult album alternative pop scene with hit albums like TEMPTATION (an album of Tom Waits covers) and DARK DEAR HEART and toured with Sarah McLachlan's popular Lilith Fair. Since 2000, she has returned to her jazzier roots with concept albums like SHADE.
