 Joe Bonamassa Biography
Blues-rock guitarist Artist proved himself a child prodigy, opening a gig for B.B. King at age 12, performing professionally throughout his teens, and signing a record deal with Epic by age 22. Bonamassa joined the band Bloodline in the early 1990s, but after recording the group's self-titled debut decided to pursue a solo career. His solo debut, A NEW DAY YESTERDAY, appeared in 2000, and he has continued to tour and record throughout the decade, releasing such discs as 2003's BLUES DELUXE and 2007's acoustic-flavored SLOE GIN. Influenced by such guitar icons as Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Buddy Guy, Bonamassa favors a classic rock sound deeply inflected by the tradition of blues guitar.
