 John Williams (Film Composer) Biography
John Williams (Film Composer) CD discography One of the world's most revered and prolific film composers, John Williams began his scoring career in the 1950s, but didn't hit his stride until the '70s, following his first Academy Award win (for FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) with his iconic music for JAWS and STAR WARS, which garnered him additional Oscars. Renowned for his sweeping Wagnerian orchestral pieces, Williams quickly became the go-to composer for blockbuster movies and network TV. He has tempered that penchant with more nuanced scores over the decades, including his work for long-time collaborator Steven Spielberg on the films SCHINDLER'S LIST and MUNICH, among others.
