Jon Hopkins Biography
Born and raised in London, electronica artist Artist got his start at a young age studying piano at London's Royal College of Music. Heavily influenced by the ambient inventions of Brian Eno, as well as the pattern music of composers Steve Reich and Phillip Glass, Hopkins began releasing his own hypnotic, complex work with 2001's OPALESCENT. Albums like CONTACT NOTE ('04) and INSIDES ('09) charted the artist's evolution toward melodic eletronica with an IDM influence. Hopkins has worked with Coldplay, Massive Attack, and Imogen Heap, among others, and his music has been featured in stage productions, film, and television.
