190 Proof CD (2012) Top Seller
Lacs discography Somewhere between the bigger and richer Cowboy Troy and the more bar band-ish Rehab are the Lacs, a down-home "hick-hop" crew who earn their "average Joe" cred by skillfully dropping a Jimmie Johnson reference within the first minute of 190 Proof, their sophomore album. The kick-ass-and-boom-tracks attitude of Colt Ford is another touchstone -- and the Lacs are signed to the man's label -- but these "Loud Ass Crackers" are even more jukebox-oriented, sticking with the drinking numbers that are easy to sing along with and even muscling into Kenny Chesney territory with the fruity drinks and faux reggae of "Island Time." Filling the rest of the album with Larry the Cable Guy-worthy skits and getting Big & Rich and Bubba Sparxxx to fill the guest list make these guys seem like the most calculated thing ever to come out of Baxley, Georgia, but nothing here feels forced and everything comes off smoother than the cheap beers the Lacs worship. Silly, fun, and probably destructive stuff, but those Rehab albums have ballads and sometimes Colt Ford gets "preachy," so next time you need a soundtrack for shooting cans off the pond or "pre-gaming" with "road sodas," the Lacs got you covered, and you can give that keg a good pump during the skits. ~ David Jeffries

Lacology CD (2006)
Lacs songs The LACS unique blend of hip hop and country was a sound ahead of its time! The songs about livin' in the south and raising a little hell became party anthems in the southeast. Come check out "The LACS" on stage antics and you'll know this is something different. Uncle Snap's lyrical flows, Captian ROOSTER Kang's on point delivery and Yocal's interactive, sarcastic style grabs you and won't let go. Country music is slow to change and occasionally someone breaks the mold. The LACS have been on the Frontlines of bringing their style of Hip Hop to country music fans for nearly a decade now . Their underground successes of songs like "Heart of Dixie", "Country Roads" and "4x4" are the cornerstones of their success. The LACS wrote the book on a good time. Their music became the life of the party and helped a many cruise a dirt road in the backwoods of South Georgia. The best way by far to enjoy the LACS is to see them live ...

Mud Digger CD (2010) Top Seller
Lacs CD discography Colt Ford gets labeled country rap, but he's really closer in tone, spirit, and approach to rhythmic spoken word country records like Hank Williams' Luke the Drifter series, dramatically narrated trucker narratives like "Convoy," or Charlie Daniels' mock-epic "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" than he is to rap. That country narrative style is really Ford's tradition, and those are the kinds of songs he writes, but he started out as a drummer and he's fully aware of how to use urban beats and rhythms in that tradition, and as a stylistic approach, he shares rap's aims to declare character, set up the landscape, and then tell the story -- he's figured out that outlaw country and urban rap are really going on about mostly the same things. He's also a skilled businessman. Ford runs his own label, Average Joe's, and he ...
